There's a couple of kids around here who do that to my house too. It's both annoying and amusing.

Thinking of a career change - 1 seems unattainable. I've done 3. I guess I'm becoming a monk.

Winter is coming and then the motorcycles will go away. Of course that won't really help because sounds tends to carry better in cold air so you'll get noIse from the airport and train tracks.

I filled it out with basically that mindset. About the only thing I said was that the speed limit should be 30 not 40.

I walked past that protest. One guy shooting the hail Mary at the building, one guy shooting video, one guy standing around. There were also two women across the street who were praying, but very unobtrusively. The call to prayer was delightful. These idiots were not.

The best mangos I ever had were at a resort in the Philippines I was at for a wedding. So good that I couldn't eat mangos for at least a year afterwards.

There was no good reason for it to be a trilogy. I suspect a single movie would have been fine, but they wanted to suck LOTR IP for all it was worth. The end result was so slow paced it was hard to watch.

The best corn from Sask I've had is from Belle Plaine colony at the Regina farmers' market. As of last Saturday, it wasn't available yet. I'm surprised any local corn is available with the late spring.

Yes it has games. It's probably to increase engagement because that's what all the apps want. To get it to stop bothering you, you need to unsubscribe from all notices on it. If you need an account on it, that may not be possible. Even without an account, it took me a long time to stop all of them.

Unlikely. The proposed route does not attach to the data center and the data center will not employ enough people to justify building roads beyond the existing grid. After initial construction and equipment installation, it will be mostly just security.

I don't know how these are set up, but I'm guessing it will be like the viewing pen for the Rockefeller tree lighting. It was so crowded. Never before in my life have so many strangers touched my ass. 🤣 (The tree lighting may be only thing I've done in NYC that I tell people isn't worth it.)

I don't know what soccer is played there. If it's kids, then two half field games at the same time makes sense. Full sized soccer fields are very much the same size as football fields so adult leagues would likely use the whole field.

This sort of nonsense has been a problem in this province for as long as I remember. The Internet has perhaps made it more extreme. (People are more willing to spit out vileness from behind a screen than in person.)

Your windows probably have some mechanism already that is just no longer working. Likely either a counter weight hidden in the sides or a spring mechanism. Mine have the spring mechanism but it's only working in like two of my windows. I should probably look at fixing them or replacing windows.

My opinion is that episodes should be as long as they need to be. If it only takes 10 minutes to tell the story one week and 2 hours the next, that's fine. I'll still consume both, but it may affect metrics as 10 minutes is an easy time slot to find but 2 hours is more challenging.

Paul Grzesina @pgrzesina.bsky.social · 07/05/2026
I've seen that sort of variability on some YouTube channels. Typically short (10 minute) episodes are normal and there are special longer episodes now and then. One channel I watch has some 4 hour videos and some 30 minute ones. That's the same sort of ratio.

I would get the hotel room, but more for access to a shower and a non shared bathroom than the amount of sleep I'd actually get. (I'd be too paranoid of missing the next flight to really sleep.)

I believe these are the kind of events it was built for. For trade shows it's fine, but for actual conventions with presentations or would suck. The acoustics are just echoey cave.

I could live with the bus stop on the street but there isn't even a sidewalk that connects from there to the Conexus. In summer, it's okay as you can cross the grass easily enough, but in winter you have to trudge through snow or walk on the street.

There is a lot to complain about with the plaza, but I will say it is a nice space for events. I'm looking forward to the farmers' market being back there this summer. 3/3

Because of swelling costs, various design elements that might have made that work were eliminated. I think they then took their time to figure out how best to use this space before coming up with the goofy curving off onto Cornwall Street thing we have now. 2/

My recollection (but it's been years) is that even in the design stage it was meant to be a mixed use space. I seem to recall the phrase "European style" being used. Construction certainly included things you wouldn't do for a presentation only space (concrete under the pavers). 1/

I do two things: I have reminders on my phone to take my meds and I have one of those pill organizers so I can easily tell if I've actually taken them. (After a health scare in January, I'm perhaps more hyper aware about my meds right now than I was a few months ago.)

It's essentially impossible as cities are required to have a balanced budget by the province. Even if they could, it wouldn't really help because they'd still have to pay for all the things going forward.

I don't think so. This extension has been in planning far longer than the AI boom. I'm skeptical of the need or use for this extension unless there are more plans for the Wascana South lands beyond the long term care home.

I believe timed stops are more about transfers than drivers and my recollection is that the transit master plan largely does away with them in favor of increased frequency. I seem to recall that all the changes it proposed were shelved until after 11th Ave work was finished for some vague reason.

My house was making so many weird noises, but even more disturbing was when I looked at the toilet bowl this morning and the water was sloshing back and forth. (I'm pretty sure it's the result of wind changing the pressure in the vent stack and not my house actually moving that much.)

I think the biggest risk from abstinence is getting punched in the face if you try to tell someone they shouldn't be drinking. 😂 I used to enjoy the occasional cocktail when I went out, but it interacts with medications so now I don't, but I don't care if anyone else does.

Newer studies do not find increased longevity from light drinking. I don't think there's much danger to it but also no benefit. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam... In general, studies on the health effects of any diet are difficult and the results are underwhelming.

The studies that showed some benefit for moderate drinking did not properly correct for health conditions. See, for example, the following which talks about it: news.stanford.edu/stories/2025...
news.stanford.edu
Is moderate drinking actually healthy? Scientists say the idea is outdated.
For decades, studies suggested that moderate alcohol intake could protect the heart, reduce diabetes risk, or even help you live longer. Newer research tells a different story.
