It might surprise some of you to know that I once saw Dolly play live. That show was slick, polished and commercial with a strong religious tone. Not my thing at all. But, my goodness....that voice (like her) was the real deal. A genuine force for good in the world. Amazing woman

Taking the first opportunity to sit out in the early evening sun and read a book. Isn't nature lovely. Then see a sparrowhawk violently capture and kill a blackbird. Isn't nature a bastard. Anyway, picture of the murderer attached. Still on the loose. Approach with caution.

’Cabaret' is one of the few big films from the 70s that I haven't seen. It shows up all the time on the BBC but every time it does, something happens that prevents me from watching it. So it is tonight. I'm drowsy from hayfever tablets and so it's early to bed for me Ah well, maybe next time....

Jason Statham's new film 'Shelter' is the absolute mean average of Jason Statham movies. Entirely generic and formulaic. That's not a criticism. It was totally the movie I needed at the end of a shitty day/week/month.

This dude lives on the Christmas tree and gets up to mischief every night. The naughtier he gets the more the kids love him. Last night they pushed their luck and asked it to do something so cheeky it would affect the whole house. So he switched off the internet for the whole day. It's been bliss.
