Retreat on 'akin to employment' relationships in vicarious liability continues in Burger v Risk Solutions: caselaw.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ewca/civ/202.... If nothing to indicate a substantial divergence between contractual position and reality, look to the terms of the contract with the tortfeasor.

I was on a long haul flight after a long day and trying to relax when the person in front of me (whose screen I could not help seeing from time to time) decided to watch the Exocist. Not exactly relaxing viewing!

If this can encourage students to engage with other European legal systems and a gain a more tolerant and internationally-focused perseptive on the law, this is surely to be welcomed. And, dare I say it, encourage UK students to learn other European languages ...

Just been working with a survey which indicates how few UK universities teaching some form of comparative law include sessions on methodology. Tendency to teach "Comparative and international perspectives on ..." without thinking what that actually entails. Hopefully more positive in Finland.

Whole-heartedly agree. So many PhDs/articles start with the simple sentence, "I will be using functionalism ..." without considering methodology more deeply.
