Solidarity with the Detainees and Protesters at Delaney Hall and at all the other ICE Concentration Camps. Abolish ICE. Close the facilities. End the Prison Industrial Complex. Solidarity to the Oppressed. FREE THEM ALL.
Expand The Delaney Hall Uprising
Connecting the Dots on The Geo Group’s concentration camps across the country and in Pennsylvania. What is Geo Group?
Geo Group owns and controls 51 active carceral facilities, including 23 contracts with ice, ALL FOR PROFIT.
Geo Group’s facilities have a CLEAR PATTERN of ABUSE, NEGLECT, POOR SAFETY, and TORTURE.
their facilities operate on FORCED LABOR.
in pa, Geo Group operates the Moshannon Valley Processing center.
Map of Geo Group’s US facilities
source: geogroup.com/locations
Inside, the people are rising up against ICE and Geo Group’s fascist cruelty. Hundreds have launched a hunger and labor strike.
They need our Solidarity. The People are Rising.
IN APRIL, captives at Moshannon Valley Processing Center attempted their own hunger strike.
They demanded BASIC RIGHTS AND PROTECTIONS. But their REASONABLE call for help have gone UNANSWERED.
TWO WEEKS AGO, Delaney Hall’s population launched their own HUNGER AND LABOR STRIKE to protest similar conditions.
But this time, THE PEOPLE ARE RESPONDING.
OUTSIDE OF DELANEY HALL, protesters are fighting for these demands.
Despite POLICE COLLABORATION with ICE,
THE PEOPLE KEEP RESISTING.
FROM MOSHANNON VALLEY TO DELANEY HALL:
ABOLISH ICE. CLOSE THEM DOWN.
END THE PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX.
SOLIDARITY TO THE OPPRESSED. FREE THEM ALL.

Pittsburgh DSA stands in Solidarity with Cuba. (1/2)
PITTSBURGH DSA STANDS IN SOLIDARITY WITH CUBA
Pittsburgh DSA unequivocally condemns the Trump Administration’s recent actions toward Cuba, including the tightening of economic restrictions, the total oil blockade, the threat of military intervention, and the indictment of former Cuban President Raúl Castro. These actions are part of a much longer history of U.S. policy toward Cuba that spans decades and administrations of both parties.Since the Cuban Revolution in 1959, the United States has maintained an extensive economic blockade against Cuba aimed at isolating the country economically and politically.

These policies have severely limited Cuba’s access to critical goods, trade opportunities, and international resources, contributing to significant hardship for ordinary Cuban people. We believe the Cuban people have the right to sovereignty and self-determination without outside coercion or threats of military force. Escalating tensions through sanctions, aggressive rhetoric, or intervention only increases instability and harms civilians.

The recent indictment of Raúl Castro represents another escalation in a broader strategy of pressure against the Cuban government. Regardless of political differences, we oppose policies that increase the likelihood of conflict and further isolate the Cuban people. At a time when public discourse around Cuba is increasingly polarized, we believe it is important to promote dialogue, education, diplomacy, and people-to-people solidarity rather than confrontation.

Pittsburgh DSA remains committed to opposing U.S. aggression toward Cuba and to supporting efforts that foster understanding and solidarity between communities, including our work alongside the Pittsburgh-Matanzas Sister Cities Partnership.

Black text with some red and green highlights reads If you liked those dates, you’ll fall in love with NA4A Pittsburgh! Dates are just one example of a food grown and sold by israel using the zionist occupation of Palestinian land. No Appetite for Apartheid’s goal is to promote the boycott of food products that are produced in israel, are culturally-appropriative, and/or are made by mega-conglomerates that financially uphold the zionist occupation of Palestine. Some brands to support: Zaytoun, Yaffa, Al’Ard, and generally any packing that says “grown in Palestine”--something colonizers won’t admit to.

Mehadrin’s operations in the Jordan Valley contribute to the continued israeli control over Palestinian agricultural lands. Erel Dates Ltd (Medjool, Super Juicy, Hayani, Barhi, organic dates, and date-based products) Erel Dates works with various israeli date growers, some of whom operate in occupied territories. Other companies include: Agrifood Marketing, Yoffi, MTex, Edom, Carmel Agrexco, Arava, Anna and Sarah, Bomaja, Delilah, Kalahari, Jordan Plains, Food to Live, NavaFresh, Karsten Farms, Rapunzel, Urban Platter, Shams, Sincerely Nuts

Dates are one of the products that colonizers take advantage of in Palestine, seizing crops and land to profit off of what is not theirs to take.
A parchment background with red hearts near the top left and brown dates near the bottom right. Black with some words highlighted in red and green says Why Dates are Culturally Important. In ancient Arab history, dates were one of the most important agricultural crops, being both a reliable food source and form of currency. Dates also play a significant role during Ramadan, as muslims prefer to break their fast with dates and water, following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad. Palestine’s fertile land helps grow these dates, but zionist companies have taken advantage of Palestine’s resources, with 40-60% dates being grown on settlements in the West Bank. With israel generating over $200 million from exported dates, it is important to boycott companies who are profiting from the genocide of Palestinian people.

Every day choices of US consumers contributed to the downfall of apartheid in South Africa. The hope is to see similar success for Palestine. The US is the biggest importer of israeli food products ($396 million in 2019). Our purchases wrongfully justify the occupation of Palestinian farmland.

Pittsburgh DSA's Statement in Solidarity with the Venezuelan People and the Bolivarian Revolution.
Pittsburgh DSA's Statement: End the US War against Venezuela and Release Nicolas MaduroIn the early morning of January 3, 2025, the United States invaded Venezuela and kidnapped President Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores. This is the latest in a series of murderous, lawless actions taken by the Trump administration in violation of Venezuelan sovereignty. The United States government has made plain it intends to seize Venezuela’s oil and install an imperial-puppet regime dominated by American corporate interests. This is simply the latest effort in the United States’ decades long neo-colonialist imperialist war on the nation and it’s people in order to rob it of the world’s largest oil reserves. Pittsburgh DSA stands in solidarity with the Venezuelan people. We condemn these outrageous actions and call for the immediate release of President Maduro and Cilia Flores and a complete cessation of hostilities towards Venezuela, including an end to the military blockade, sanctions, and horrific strikes on Venezuelan people.

When you go out and talk to neighbors, you learn that people are fed up with the status quo and do actually support the values and priorities that the establishment is fighting against.

This is the same strategy the US and Israel have implemented in the genocidal erasure of Palestinians over the last two years. The US and Israel paved the way for this strategy in 2021 when they held hands as the only two UN general assembly members to vote against codifying food as a human right. It comes as no surprise that an empire that would enforce starvation war tactics abroad (a war crime) would employ the same tools against its own people when it becomes profitable or necessary for the ruling class.

The old world is dying, and a new one is being born. As capitalism's inherent exploitation of the natural world and our humanity begin to cannibalize themselves, the contradictions that Marx spoke about are becoming more difficult to ignore. As patriarchy, capitalism, imperialism, and all forms of domination begin to die, they rip off their masks screaming, leaving behind any performance of dignity or compassion they had ever tried to sell the working class. While we collectively brace ourselves through the horrors that have persisted over the last two years in Palestine, let us sharpen our tools for the horrors yet to come, and re-commit to the long and short term solutions to the violent survival scenarios the ruling class is inflicting upon us. In the immediate term, you may already know what that means: stocking and maintaining local food pantries and community refrigerators, building networks of care and resistance, taking control of your food supply by growing and preserving what you can, reallocating abundance from food drives to free meals to grocery hand-outs throughout your neighborhoods. Start small, connect with your neighbors and get to know their needs. Start thinking collectively about the ways you source, prepare and consume the food you eat. Have more community meals, or support your local food distros (Pittsburgh has one of the most robust mutual aid networks in the states!)In the long term, the most important thing that we do is learn to love one another, build together, and help each other imagine a future where everyone is full. Nearly 40% of the food products produced in America end up in a landfill without ever being opened. As long as we uphold an economy that prioritizes wealth over human need, we will watch our neighbors go hungry while landfills choke our neighborhoods and bury communities abroad.

As we imagine and start building toward a socialist future, we cannot lose faith in one another or the hope that millions of small actions will force the revolution we need to survive capitalism. We must sustain and invest in ourselves and our neighbors; allowing our hearts to redefine "family" and "community" as we carve out a space for one another in a new world. Think big and dream radically; listen and learn from the folks already doing the work, lift from the bottom to lift everyone up, and devote yourself to one another. May our Palestinian brothers and sisters in resistance inspire us to break through the walls of our own oppression, in the name of justice and liberation for all.

No one is free until everyone is free- in love and unconditional solidarity,

Pittsburgh DSA's Statement in Solidarity with SNAP Benefit Recipients. (1/2)
A black poster, with white text and an image of a cardboard box with food in it. The text reads Pittsburgh DSA stands In solidarity with victims of snap cuts. “This empire is at war with its poorest communities” As our government enters month two of its shut down, Pittsburgh DSA stands in solidarity and community with those experiencing food insecurity, and now, cuts to SNAP (also known as "foodstamps"). pghdsa.orgThe Trump Administration could ensure that benefit continue to be paid by complying with a Federal Court Order and releasing $6 Billion in from the SNAP emergency reserve. So far, it has chosen not to do so.

Nearly 40% of SNAP recipients are children. Our hearts and solidarity are with them and their caregivers especially- victims of an incompetent federal government. Countless others are elders, neighbors with disabilities, and hard-working folks, caring for one another. Cutting SNAP benefits at a time when Americans are reeling from sky-high healthcare premiums, food prices, and electricity bills, our leaders subsidize tax breaks for the rich, bailouts for capitalist leaders, daily bombings of Somalia, and the genocidal interests of the settler colonial project known as "Israel" at the same time. Meanwhile, the corporate oligarchy uses the stolen wages of the working class to build massive carceral structures, police training facilities, and immigration detention centers across the nation. We experience our friends and neighbors being disappeared across the empire each day through the perils and violence of poverty: through carceral institutions, exposure to the elements, lack of healthcare access, or as byproducts of the free labor that the 13th amendment "legally" robs from us. Even if foodstamp benefits are restored today, the Trump administration continues to implement more difficult barriers for the poor and disabled to qualify for food support. This is a tactic of eugenics targeting those that have no value to the oligarchy: folks who are too young, old, or disabled to work for Capitalists' poverty wages. Don't cover your eyes and ears in this moment! What we're experiencing today is the deadliness of the imperial boomerang and the fulfillment of a promise: what Imperialism does abroad, Fascism and the willful ignorance of liberalism will repeat at home. As this country becomes increasingly militarized and conscientious objectors to violence become increasingly criminalized, suppressed in the algorithms that rule our communications, or slandered and murdered by police, they're saying the quiet part out loud: this is a war on the poor, and the empire is ready to inflict violence in more creative ways than you can yet imagine.

Make no mistake that SNAP cuts are the empire's way of declaring one thing: this empire is at war with its poorest communities, and at best they don't care if working class children, disabled, houseless and elderly family members die by slow starvation.
