The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation provides an opportunity for everyone to recognize and memorialize the legacy of residential schools. 🧡 As is our practice, our office is closed today. The day may present itself as a day of quiet reflection or participation in a community remembrance.

With the support of the Fredericton Community Foundation and the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada, we developed and launched PFY Connect, providing youth with free, rapid access to licensed counselling therapy. Since then, PFY Connect has supported over 600 young people across the province.

Sport3 helps middle school students build skills that last far beyond the classroom. Guided by trained facilitators, students take part in activities that strengthen communication, encourage empathy, and develop conflict resolution skills.

PFY is proud to partner with Housing New Brunswick on the administration of the Rent Bank program. Focused on youth aged 29 and under, the program helps people access financial support to maintain stable housing. We assist with the application process and help connect youth to additional resources.

This school year, we delivered group programming through Youth Works in partnership with schools in Harvey, Fredericton, Oromocto, Nackawic, and Woodstock. We also provided one-on-one mentorship to more than 60 youth as they worked toward post-secondary education and employment goals.

Ashley recently graduated from the UNB Saint John Social Work program, building on her earlier studies as a Social Work Technician at NBCC. She’s no stranger to PFY—having completed a previous placement with us—and we’re thrilled to welcome her back as a Program Coordinator and Social Worker.

At the heart of Mindful Kids is the understanding that there is no “one size fits all” approach to wellbeing. This year, we expanded our focus on younger learners by delivering ongoing programming in two local elementary schools, and their students explored a variety of mindfulness techniques.

PFY Connect provides timely access to licensed counselling therapy for youth ages 14 to 24—and when needed, we’ve remained flexible to support younger youth as well. From April 2025 to March 2026, 234 youth across the province accessed licensed counselling through PFY Connect.
