I’m getting to the age where that’s my worst fear.

How about, it’s almost midnight in London and I’m in the balcony in a t shirt after having an alfresco meal for dinner. In October. This is weird.

Obligatory living it up in London shot while I’m here. Perks of sleeping in the office and all that 🤘🤘

Hang on, does he think that steeple jacks go up the steeples to wind the clock back/forward?

Which is what spawned the oligarchs of I understand it correctly which in turn is what props up Vlad.

I got totally trolled for revealing my kids read Harry Potter cos of JKs gender politics. Does matter about the other people that make a living through this avenue.

I’m literally over the hill from your old school! I’m one of the few who decided not to put my kids into Linlithgow academy and went over the hill to Bo’ness 😀

He’s trying to make high diesel prices seem like the fault of Ukraine to deflect from the fact that it’s his failed war on Iran that has caused them.

And that’s just what they are admitting to, it’s most likely even worse than things seem! As you always say.

No worries, I don’t feel attacked at all 🙂 I know my stance on gender issues and JKs views on this greatly disappoint me. I always thought she was better than that. Pity. I do reckon I’ve given more cash to trans charities than I’ve given to JK tho. We’ve a very active trans community at work

I bought all the books when they first came out, (ish, I got them around 2003) I don’t think her anti trans crusade had started back then. If it had I was unaware of it.

I know the whole JK anti trans thing, which baffles me a bit as she wrote a bunch of books under a man’s name. Anyway, neither my kids nor my family are in any way anti trans but we all enjoy HP.

HP is what got my eldest to read. Prior to this he struggled due to dyslexia but HP grabbed his imagination and fired up his passion to read. This got my youngest into HP too and we’ve had a wonderful time with it. Actually it’s what got me into reading too… but we didn’t push HP in any way.

Donald doesn’t have any cards. By not supplying Patriots he’s let Ukraine off the leash as he’s thrown away his leverage over them. Which ironically puts Putin under pressure.

I bet! It’s best you find out up front. Especially these days, we have friends in the dating pool and it just seems like a swamp of bottom feeders. Except my best mate, lovely guy, own house, kind, bit dim, good career. Can’t meet a woman for love nor money. Poor guy. He’s non ugly too.

My wife is 6ft, I’m 5’9 (rounded up) but we were lying down when we met so it’s all good. I’m also a lot comfier than her in economy class and our local cinema which has tiny seats. You’ve probably dodged a bullet with those guys. Think of your height as a weirdo filter.

We can put absolutely zero faith in this statement. Or any statement from trump other than when he threatens to put his name on something. Then he follows through.

Really impressive building too! I’m always amazed at what was built in the past without modern manufacturing systems and logistics. Thanks again 🙏

No Norman foundations?

That’s really kind but I think I have enough and don’t want to trouble you. I apologise if a small English man joins Bluesky to debate this with you. Also, our work has nothing to do with buildings or history or anything related to this subject 🤣🤣

I remembered the holy dipstick story and how bodies were just dumped under the cathedral and a diver literally built foundations while swimming in literal corpse soup. Anyway I was wondering if cathedrals were built on top of Norman castles or is it just bs?

Pete @petesp.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
You did a thread about English cathedrals and “the holy dipstick” and how many cathedrals didn’t have good foundations or something like that. Work colleague reckons that cathedrals are all built on Norman churches to “crush” the Norman society.

@oldenoughtosay.com hey! During my work stand up today we got talking about cathedrals where I dropped the knowledge bomb from your thread on them when one of my colleagues said that cathedrals are built on top of Norman churches. Is there any truth in that? Convo started as chat about bouncy castle

Thanks Prune, I have always considered how you find so much time for your research which I’m sure is a fraction of the time you spend posting, plus the crochet and being a mum and having a job. No idea how you do it and sorry for not standing up. I generally only read your posts and ignore comments

Hmm, I missed this either through ignorance or that I just missed it in the noise. Apologies and happy to have my omission pointed out. I’m an electronics engineer-FPGA specialist and find your posts a bastion of reason in a swamp of social media.

Ah! Yeah my Mrs is a nurse, once austerity started and the community services were cut she predicted exactly what was going to happen. It’s an outrage how badly managed the whole organisation has been from politics to day to day management.

When you’re sitting in a helicopter that’s trying to shake itself apart and you’re wearing arctic gloves? I’ve walked away from cars without buttons ever since this fad hit. The old guy was right and it’s a lesson I haven’t forgotten.

I actively avoid them. But! When I was a fresh electronics engineering grad I piped up in a meeting about touchscreen and multifunction buttons thinking I was the bees knees dragging our tech in to the future. Till it was pointed out how are you going to know you’ve pressed the button…
