Well the federal Gov is trying to rain in the disaster funding model and make it 50/50 with state split. Having once been an accessory of damage I know that a lot of poor maintenance issues resulted in unnecessary damage from events. Maybe now the state will help the local government manage issues.

I've travelled all the states over the last year and can give an observation that I think no state other than WA has anything to be proud about in relation to road understructure. Victoria is by no means on its own. They are all collapsing and there isn't the infrastructure to fix it.

Let's be clear. A change of power in the US will do nothing for the world's economy or the majority of people. They dropped the corporate tax rate from 52% in 1968 to its current rate around 21%. All economies had to follow suit or lose corporations altogether. Someone has to pay the shortfall.
