Out campaigning today with Sagal Abdi-Wali, Labour’s candidate for the Holborn and St Pancras by-election. Great to be out meeting residents, listening to their views and making the case for Sagal and the future she wants to build for the constituency. The by-election takes place on 8 October!🌹

A really valuable visit to innov8 in Bury St Edmunds, meeting mentors and young people supported through their alternative provision. Great to see the work being done to build confidence, develop practical skills and help young people find a route that works for them.

Really interesting visit to Coney Weston to see how biodiversity net gain can work in practice. Environment Bank is restoring former arable land here to create meadows, ponds, scrub and trees - generating habitat that can help developments meet their biodiversity obligations.

At the hardest moments in life, people should not have to worry about whether they can take time off work to grieve. The Government has announced new rights for employees to take leave when they suffer a bereavement. It's an important step in the right direction👇️ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Nine months after Stowmarket station’s new lifts were installed, they are still not working. I raised residents’ frustrations directly with Greater Anglia and, following my intervention, signs have now gone up explaining the delay. That’s welcome - but Stowmarket still needs working lifts.

The Prime Minister is right: our water industry has become “a leaking monument” to an economic model that has too often put private profit before the public interest. People are fed up with sewage, leaks and rising bills. We need a water system that works for communities first.
