Can't say I'm overly surprised by the result. Most of the team aren't good enough and need to be moved on. The only plus is we won't be paying big wages anymore, so whoever we buy will be joining because they want to play for Manchester United

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 21/05/2025

Massive game tonight. We won it in 2017 and fell short in 2021. Tonight's game is much more important though, as so much of our rebuild hinges on us winning it. As much as I'd like to say it's only Spurs, we're just as bad as them. Win this and use it a springboard for better things

Not posted for several weeks. We were by far the better side last night. That being said, Amorim will have one of the greatest achievements in the history of this club if he wins the Europa League with this side

Morning all. Last night was the first time I actually felt like I was watching Manchester United in the longest time. Let's hope they can continue to play like this for the remainder of the season 🙏

Don't like going in on our players, but I think Dalot cost us that game last night. Hoijlund is far from the finished article, but he'd have buried that if only Dalot hadn't been so utterly stupid.

Morning all. Big day for me as I've turned 50. I'm still 18 in my head, although my body tells me differently 🤣

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 03/03/2025

After watching yesterday's match again, I have come to the conclusion that Hoijlund is nowhere near good enough to play for Manchester United, nor will he be. He lacks the physicality, skills and most importantly, football intelligence.

I can't say I'm overly disappointed, as I go into every game with zero expectations from this lot. Most aren't good enough to wear the badge, and some are only there for the wage. I refuse to let them spoil my weekend. Roll on next season and the introduction of young hungry players

I've seen enough to know Garnacho has to go in the summer. Zero interest in passing the ball, would rather shoot every time. He doesn't suit the system, he'd be great in Spain. Sell him there and use the funds to buy someone who is more suited

Are Ineos doing a good job? For me it's 50/50 atm. Is SJR a "nice guy"? Probably not. You don't get that kind of money by being nice. He is a self made millionaire though, unlike Joel and Avram, who inherited their dads money burnt through it and then Uniteds. This is going to take time

Evening, let's leave the negativity to Elons cesspit and have some fun. What's everyone's favourite United Team. I know most gravitate to 99 and 08, but some here are older. My personal favourite is the 94 double winners, I also have a soft spot for the 85 side. What are yours?

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 13/02/2025

Obi Martin with a hat trick last night is great news for us. Let's not get carried away though. By all means give him 20 mins here and there, but it's too soon to put him straight into the starting lineup. He wouldn't be coming into a winning team like Rooney.

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 12/02/2025

So today, I'm hearing that certain United players don't like Amorims system and have gone squealing to the press. Whoever the players are should have the balls to come out publicly and speak to Ruben. In my opinion, whoever it is should immediately be sacked if found guilty, no matter who they are

Just woken up from nights to hear that Bayern will receive a 10 million loan fee, for Tel, plus pay all his wages which is around 2 million, Spurs have option to buy for 55 million possibly rising to 60 million. Tel has say on whether he joins or not after this. We dodged a bullet there

1111

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 03/02/2025

I'm livid we haven't bought in a striker, but at the same time I understand spending a fortune on an unproven talent like Tel as opposed to a loan is too risky. That being said the fact we're stuck with a championship level striker is not go9d enough for a club like Manchester United

Afternoon all. After Ruben's comments last night, it looks as if there's no way back for Rashford. Barcelona look to be his best bet at a way out, but being as they're worse than us with their finances I doubt it'll happen in the next few days as they're running out of things that they can sell

Morning all, after last night's discussion about Garnacho, I got to thinking about some of our older wingers from the days before the Premier League. Jesper Olsen was my favourite in the 80's. I think he'd have thrived in today's game with greater protection and the ability to roam more.

I wish more of today's players understood what a privilege it is to play for Manchester United. Dennis Law was proud to be part of the rebuild after Munich. Ashley Young and Patrice Evra are examples of players who "got it" and tried to pass on that wisdom to the younger players in the squad

030

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

Amad is a United player, have no doubt about that. Not many players in that team can make that claim

020

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 05/01/2025

Most important takeaway from today's game is that I saw us fight to the end. A proper team performance. Champions League qualification isn't happening but neither is relegation if we keep playing with that intent.

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 30/12/2024

I feel sorry for Amorim. He's been bought in mid season and handed a squad who aren't capable of playing his style of football. That being said they've been incapable of adapting to anyone's style

Unfortunately he has proved to be everything we thought he was. At least this should stop all those who bang on about him being a "fan". I love the bit where he couldn't even be bothered to tell them 😄 It was only Fergie throwing a fit that Sir Matt's family are still welcome. Guy's an utter wanker

Today was an absolutely shocking performance. The majority of this team need replacing. We still can't deal with set pieces. Our set piece coach had am immediate impact at Southampton which suggests our players are either too thick or unwilling to listen

110

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 22/12/2024

The only positive about this is that Amorim can see exactly who needs to go

010

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 19/12/2024

Mixed emotions over tonight's game. I never want us to lose a match and I've never been someone who looks down their nose at the EFL Cup. However it'll probably be in our best interests to go out of it tonight as there'll be a massive fixture pile up with the next round being played over two legs.

010

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 11/12/2024

I hope Garnacho realises that the needs to step up and concentrate on his football and reign his brother in. While I am a fan of his, he's been average this season. He's young enough to put this behind him and improve as a player, I just hope he's mature enough to do it before it's too late #MUFC

Sparky's Volley @peterjones75.bsky.social · 10/12/2024

Rashford allegedly for sale in Jan. Personally, if Amorim and Ineos deem him surplus to requirements then so be it. United will move on regardless, but let's stop the witch hunt. He still outperforms Grealish and several others even whilst being way below his best
