I was going to do the 9 Albums thing but then got offended that they didn't have an image of Dick Hyman's The Age of Electronicus.

The hill I will die upon is that "till" is a cash drawer, not the abbreviation of "until."

Here is why Roy Lichtenstein's sculptures are terrible! It is because what makes him great is how he deploys forms, lines, and colors in a rectangle (or circle) so fastidiously. Without that grounding in the formalism which makes his work... work, it's just kitschy elements pulled from his paintings

The great Rupert Garcia was born on this date in 1941 and I hope he has a happy birthday. Since it's also World Heart Day, let's combine them both with Garcia's poster for The Mexican Museum in San Francisco, 1978:

I just saw another meta pharmaceutical ad where a bunch of actors are portraying actors auditioning for a pharmaceutical ad, but the name of the illness is difficult to pronounce and hilarity ensues as all the actors get it wrong and they laugh and laugh and say "Cut!"

This is a favorite in my "miscellaneous" section because not only do you hear the music boxes, but also Mr. Templeton talking about them, winding them up, walking from one to another, and even occasionally knocking things over. A uniquely weird LP from a major label in 1958:

It's International Rabbit Day and I've always loved this thuggish chalkware rabbit captured in watercolor and graphite by Betty Fuerst for the Index of American Design, 1940. This rabbit cannot believe you just said that:

I was disappointed when Reflecting Pool S02 went on hiatus, but Kennedy Center, with double the episodes, is eager to please. In the latest, it turns out that they were going to do the repairs, and then they didn't do the repairs so that they could shut the place down for the repairs. Abstract!

It's the International Week of Deaf People and I was fascinated to learn that Hendrick Avercamp (1585-1634), painter of so many exquisitely detailed Dutch Golden Age winter scenes, was mute and probably deaf. Winter Games on the Frozen River Ijssel, graphite, ink, gouache, and watercolor, c. 1626:

Listening to my "Stereo Action" LPs from 1961-63. They are stereo demonstration albums with super high production values & heavy cardboard sleeves with peekaboo die-cut details. Fab, but each instrument constantly sweeping from ear to ear gets old pretty fast. "The Sound Your Eyes Can Follow!"

Listening to Cabaret Voltaire albums in chronological order, and their earlier albums still sound so good, while their later "dancey" LPs sound embarrassingly dated. An even worse example of this is SPK.
