More importantly: what if there’s more stages of capitalism coming?

A significant part of the Conservative project for the last 50 years has been to implement Nixon’s idea of the Executive-as-king.

Mindfully sharing space with other human beings has nothing to do with any stage of capitalism.

I found it curious that Flanagan clearly made “Doctor Sleep” a sequel to Kurbrick’s “The Shining” even though King notoriously didn’t like that adaptation.

You were successfully funny! And sent me down memory lane trying to recall the acts that performed that “Rock Fest” series.

I saw Gary U.S. Bonds in concert in 1985! He had a couple comeback chartings songs back then penned by Springsteen. Local radio station had these “Four bands for $15” shows at my college Field House and he was the headliner. #at40

Also, Jack Smith worked for the ICC, which has to factor significantly in Trump’s grudge.

For work, I had to do a bunch of treatment options for a potential True Blood video game. Binge watching it became a definite challenge, and it was still relatively early in its run.

For me a recent example is AppleTV’s “Your Friends And Neighbors”. I think it was supposed to be a limited series, but they decided to extend it and season two was significantly thinner and nonsensical.

First two seasons: great. But “Danny Stevens-ed” should be coined as an update to “jump the shark”.

The DeLorme book was amazingly accurate. My father and I knocked around the backwoods a lot to camp and fish. The Maine Guide had all the private and logging roads. It was always in the back seat.

I stopped all notifications from Nextdoor dumpster fire and rarely go on it. I peeked at it yesterday. There’s a San Francisco ballot measure to revert Sunset Dunes Park to a road. (3rd time on ballot, no less). Literally cheering the potential dismantling of a children’s play structure.

His use of the word “virtual” is spot on but not the way he intended.

My neighbors have one. I appreciate that they dumped their Tesla for it. I haven’t asked how they like it yet. I followed the concept iterations in the car press but was disappointed how it ended up so expensive. You’ll think given its lineage it would be a candidate for a real stripped down model.

Yeah, they can’t outright repeal the ACA, so they are trying to kill it with a thousand cuts.

All the categories of fraud schemes they claim seem to be either overstated, just errors that got corrected after normal review, or if truly malfeasance, things that easily could be flagged and billed with a simple review.

Are you saying it isn’t *much* of a tax credit? That I agree with for a lot of people. Because it IS a tax credit. That’s the way the law is written. You paid zero because your tax credit offset your premium (unless you were qualified to be insured under Medicaid).

Peter Glover @peterglover.com · 26/09/2026
I beat the drum that they should be always referred to a tax credits (not subsidies), because it’s a reminder that the tax credits are reconciled at tax filing. I agree that your proposed audit of fake subscribers could easily be done against tax returns.

Even taken at face value (and they shouldn’t be - because they lie), all their claims of fraud could all be fixed via straightforward audit or system changes. This is obvious, but they have zero interest in Americans getting healthcare, they just want to drown the ACA in the bathtub.

Me too. I guess my car doesn’t exist.

I tried with this one, but eventually just gave up. It’s always a bad sign when a show needs a complete setting reboot in the middle of its run.

One glaring lie is their claim that people are abusing the ACA tax credit. Tax payers reconcile their tax credit when they file in April, via the 1095-A and 8962 forms. Nobody just skates along paying fraudulently low premiums. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/22/u...

Nobody did anything “illegal” in NJ. It was a software error with the DMV feed. In 2024, 6,600 people were registered to vote even though they weren’t citizens. No crime took place: they filled out the form honestly. Only 400 of them actually voted. Harris won by 260,000 votes.
