Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 14/06/2026Fake news, and from the BBC (@bbcnews-world-rss.bsky.social). It was one vessel that was intercepted, not a fleet. 100
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 27/01/2026I've found a pragmatic solution! Hang your jumper over the seat in front, being careful not to disturb the person in the seat. 000
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 27/01/2026A new form of annoyance to whinge about. I've just boarded a @virginatlantic.bsky.social flight from London to Mumbai and I can't turn the screen off. 100
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 20/12/2025@simoncalder.bsky.social From today's @the-independent.com: "New high-speed rail to link Vienna and Trieste". I got quite excited, by then saw that the "high speed" journey takes 6.5 hours. It's 350 km as the crow flies. Even the @gwr.com train from London to Bristol gets up to 200 km/hr. 000
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 17/12/2025Trip.com is one of those sites that does a lot of things really well, but manages to counter that by being really irritating, like sending you alerts and emails about nothing all this time. Also, what's this? They say I'm saving CO2, but I'm going somewhere, so by definition I'm creating CO2? 000
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 06/10/2025I love London (taken yesterday evening on Frith Street, Soho). 010
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 02/09/2025I knew that Von der Leyen's plane had had its GPS jammed, so as an engineer I read this article with interest, as it would be a lot more difficult to jam radar. It turns out that the first part of the article is wrong. The quotes make it clear that GPS was jammed, @rentouljohn.bsky.social 010
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 04/04/2025Without wanting to detract from the major fall in stock prices yesterday, those if us who may be retiring in the next few years can take comfort that they've still more than doubled over the last 5 years. 000
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 13/03/2025No inconvenience at all, thank you @brewdogofficial.bsky.social 000
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 05/02/2025I eventually got curious as to why GMail thought I wanted my email translated into Polish and clicked on it. It turns out that it's asking if you want to polish your email, as in what you do to make your shoes shine. It slightly rephrased my email to make it seem like someone else had written it. 100
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 22/01/2025Here's a photo of Battersea Power Station I took in November 2021 from more or less the same angle, but lower. There are now buildings in the way. 120
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 02/01/2025I used to post my composite annual tracks around London on the former bird place, so here we go on @bsky.app. Yellow=running, orange=cycling, green=walking. 030
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 31/12/2024I did most of my Christmas shopping in book shops and a record shop, @roughtraderecords.bsky.social. Funny how I looked online for ages and didn't find anything inspiring, but walked into Rough Trade and I instantly found the perfect gift, which was a record I didn't know existed. 041
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 21/12/2024And, a few miles upstream: Battersea Power Station. 020
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 21/12/2024London looking lovely this evening. (View across the river from Embankment Pier) 120
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 02/12/2024China has a huge density of coffee shops. They all have espresso machines, but no one understands what an espresso is. "It's the coffee that comes out of the machine before you mix it with other things". This Costa at Beijing South station had an English menu. No espresso. 040
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 02/12/2024A nice surprise from my electricity supplier, @goodenergyuk.bsky.social. Good Energy's customer service has gone from "not much better than the rest" to really good over the last couple of years. 140
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 24/11/2024In the toilet of a Heathrow Express train. You can't get water until you've pressed the soap button. In my experience, after you've got soap on your hands twice and found there is no water, you don't do it again. This means that the first squirt of soap is wasted. 010
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 24/11/2024From the @the-independent.com. I don't think "as" is appropriate in this context. @rentouljohn.bsky.social? 010
Peter Claydon @peterclaydon.bsky.social · 21/09/2024Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #6,176,310! 010
