christamighty it was loud in the theater. I complained to my peers that it was too loud. Apparently, everyone agrees, not just the oldsters. It’s a fair retelling & I enjoyed it as a 3 hour matinee for $12. Should have brought my own beeswax .

Fuck me, I thought that was one of the more odd pigeons, at first. When they approach landing, the swells of feathers patterns flatten out a bit. Seems to mimic those folks in their flying squirrel suits.

I once masturbated while eating Kellogg’s Graham Crackers. I can just see J. Harvey and Sylvester G. rolling in their graves.

J. Harvey Kellogg, as played by Anthony Hopkins in “The Road to Wellville”, with arms up and outstretched, under a sign which proclaims “life is death postponed”.

Kellogg sports a white, physicians laboratory coat over a stiffly collared white dress shirt. The knot of his red tie is visible. He wears his whiskers in a Van Dyke style, moustachioed and goateed, but with cheeks shaven. His near bald, grey-blonde pate is closely cropped.
He’s wearing wire rimmed spectacles.

There are nurses and attendants behind and above him in a mezzanine. They are mostly women, clad in long, white working hospital shifts.

I’m not much on existential gurus or any religious mumbo jumbo, but I reckon ol’ Ram Das made a fair point when he focused on his mantra “Be here now.” The only payment is our time, which we are all short on anyway. Mr. Vonnegut was more verbose, but a bit more specific.

Trying for two good ones in a row

A banneton (proofing basket) on my counter. It’s covered with a dry, cloth kitchen towel.

The basket has been uncovered and inverted onto a thin, wooden peel, revealing a dusty surface on an oblong slab of pale dough.

Using a lame (razor blade on stick) I have slashed the dough with one shallow, inwardly angled cut over the length of one side of the dough. This will allow for dramatic expansion of the loaf once inside the oven.

Just into the bottom of my hot clay baker, also inside the oven.

I will cover it with a hot lid to bake.

Sunday bake. Repetition in form gets me closer to perfection.

A freshly baked sourdough batard. The flap of the loafs “ear” reveals the inner structure of the loaf. It’s a bit like a blinking eye.

Opposite longways view.

Blisters and craquelure are desired and evident here.

The loaf is golden brown bordering on light orange amber.
