I have just ordered a hardback book and noticed this safety warning on the website! Any ideas? (It’s not even on Electrical Engineering. 🤪)

Trump's idea of the CHIPS act: (Mmm, let me grab some of that...)

Sweetie, it's just a compliment on your grooming. I've one rather like you!

Looks like a Javanese or similar Bichon Frise-based dog. They ARE long and have an unusual gait, as shown below.

This is the Silmarillion edition I mentioned previously. A HarperCollins UK edition, but it could easily pass for a Folio Society one with its quarter-bound design. This one was actually printed and bound in Italy!

Sadly, they do eventually fall apart - like us! That’s why I went for a rather fancy edition, a while ago. 👍 The Silmarillion is even fancier, since there wasn’t a matching one at the time. ☹️
Hardback copies of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, with the slip case for the pair partially in-shot. Both have dust covers, which is what are seen here.

Maybe he would like my good boy!
Photo of a Havanese dog on a chair. Mainly white and tan, puppy cut.

Zoomed in from original, so some loss of definition.

Anyone else notice how the current “MAGA look” for females was perfectly prefigured by ‘Griselda the Space Spy’ in Gerry Anderson’s 1962 Series ‘Fireball XL5’?

Hardly - opened in 1875, this large station still has 7 platforms, some sub-divided. In the 1960s it was the gateway to North Wales, with six signal boxes! Even now, it connects to Manchester (including airport) Liverpool, Wrexham, Holyhead, Crewe and all points to London.

Sunday Morning: I like to keep a dog and Bach myself…
A Havanese dog on a couch, having just woken up. Puppy cut, so a fluffy white and tan coat, black nose and dark eyes.Qobuz feed of Angela Hewitt’s 2008 recording of Bach’s “48” - the “Well-Tempered Clavier”. Performed with great great skill and delicacy on a Fazioli piano.

Recently got a new (to me!) zoom lens and needed to test it. For investigating vignetting, most people use a clear, blue sky. Not that common in early March here in the UK, but we've had some lovely weather lately. So, I present to you... BlueSky! 😂
Photo of a clear blue sky, taken as a lens test to investigate vignetting at various f numbers. This one was taken at f8 using a focal length of 70mm on full frame. A tripod was used. The lens was a Nikkor AF-P 70-300 f4.5-5.6E VR on a Nikon D700 body.

Interesting choices here... Never come across Nahvalur here in the UK; fell out with Parker about 50 years ago, well before they moved to France. I rather like Waterman (part of the same conglomerate now), though. TWSBI 👍, Kaweco 👍, LAMY ❤️. Using a LAMY today, to catch up on correspondence:

Problems, problems… You sent me down the rabbit-hole and I came back with this:
Poster from the Content Authority: Callipygian or Callipygous - which should you use in writing?

My writing? OK - typically as shown below; a mix of cursive and printed. This is when I am not making a special effort! Pen: Pilot Heritage '91 with a rhodium plated 14K gold nib in fine. Ink: Diamine Maroon. Notebook: for once, NOT Clairefontaine! A Kraft 'nu:' notebook, stitched spine.
