What Replaces the Proxies
No router has ever had the whole map of the internet. None of them need one. The AI transformation debate has all the interrogation it could want—and still hasn't moved.

My latest post, "What Replaces the Proxies." The one where I use a 90-second BGP hijack from 2008 to explain why nobody can settle whether AI is transformative.

Argue With a Row
Every case from the watermill to grid-scale storage, scored the same six ways. Find the row that breaks it.

Which Way It Runs
A framework spent a year surviving every case thrown at it. Then it caught its own false positive—hidden in a 1957 liability cap nobody had traced.

Who Killed the ROI?
A firm's own people say AI is paying off. The numbers disagree. Most of the explanations on offer don't survive being checked.

The last few years have been a kind of natural experiment. Many people assumed intelligence was a scalar quantity—if you increased the amount of “intelligence” available, economic output & social capability would increase proportionally. That prediction has not held up well.

Britain had better electrical science than America in the 1880s. America built the better grid. The difference wasn't capability. It was who paid when things went wrong.
