iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I've got the Essential as well as the original issues and yep, have to agree!

I guess I'm about the same age as you Andrew, or a bit older. I was lucky to get the first Starlin issue of Warlock / Strange Tales when it came out, and raised catholic I knew exactly where Jim was coming from. Those two annuals that end the story were like gold if you could get them at the time :)

100%. The early Thomas / Freidrich / everybody stuff is an interesting mess. The Starlin stuff is him working out his religious & industry issues in mind-blowing ways, similiar but different to what McGregor was doing in Killraven & Black Panther at the time. Intensely personal but accessible

Steve Gerber & Gene Colan on Howard The Duck. Steve Gerber & everyone on Man-Thing. Steve Englehart, Marshall Rogers & Terry Austin on Batman. Roy Thomas & John Buscema on Conan. Don McGregor & Craig Russell on Killraven Kirby on anything. That'll do for starters!

Today would've been my fantastic Mum's 80th birthday. She was one of the first, and longest surviving, kidney transplant patients in the UK. Without organ donation, she wouldn't've lived and I wouldn't even exist, so if you can, and feel able to, please register at: www.organdonation.nhs.uk

Fin yeah, that's great though. I think that might've been the tour where they cancelled in my town 'cos Bruce got ill, but Steve Harris & Nicko showed up anyway and drank with the fans for a bit, so disappointed, but that was cool of them.

Pete Doree @petedoree.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

Definitely one of their best, and Pete Way was so cool. Waysted as well, when they started, were great.

Hahah! Genuinely made me spit my drink out 😂

Yeah it really is, congrats!

Hey I can always skip across town and sell my photos to the Daily Planet... 🤪

Congrats Liam, I know how much this means to a fellow Bronze Age boy ⚔️ This was the latest ish of my Stan & Jack book, in a S & S stylee. With all the tariffs crippling us, I'm taking a break from trying to sell it as it costs too much to send overseas now, but you'll appreciate this, I'm sure ;)

💯I don't know that anyone enjoyed drawing the human figure in movement more, or at least that was the impresssion I always got from his work.

I remember an interview with Chaykin, who said that Kane, as well as loving opera, watched ballet to study how dancers moved. When you know that, you can't help but see how graceful ( and balletic! ) his figure work was. His characters moved like no one else's.

Friends, with Endeavour launching tomorrow it would be really cool if you could increase our bandwidth by reposting my Endeavour posts and hopefully drive some good sales on the book we have all worked so hard on.
