I think my novel is going to be in some senses a eulogy to my relationship with my ex. It just ended up becoming that unintentionally, and from now it will be intentional. I hope it is worthy of such a great purpose.

Again and again, I write into my stories feelings and truths that I was not consciously aware of at the time. I read something I wrote when things were at their worst with my ex and it is just expressing the situation and my feelings in a way I had no conscious grasp of at the time.

My writing is very horny but I generally hate including explicit sex scenes unless needed. I don't like overtly trying to get the reader off, I want you to come to those feelings yourself throughout the work, if you do so at all. You might just feel disgust and that works too.

It is important to me to write about being trans outside of egg-cracking/realisation narratives. I did a few of them when in that stage of my own life, but I soon found them very limiting and one-note, when there is such an ocean of less-explored and more dynamic themes around transness.

Everything we write ends up being plural in some way, we just can't help it, plurality is just so fundamental to our perspective. But this is a good thing, it gives our narratives and prose a pretty unique texture and perspective, and it opens up interesting doors for exploration.

I love writing in second person present tense, it really allows for so much intensity of experience and sensation. Your Sweet Heart is such a sensory experience, I don't think it could work any other way.

Everyone always asks to read our writing, but only like 15% of people ever actually do. Why can't I have chosen an artform that doesn't require people to put effort in to experience. I feel like a nuisance. I have so many clever and creative friends, but they so rarely engage with my stuff :(
