Update about my #weightlossjourney: Since I started a little over a year ago I have lost around 35kg (about 77lbs). I still have work to do but I’m on a good path. Full disclosure: I am counting also three kg that I put back on over the summer vacation and then lost again the last couple weeks.

My local surgery got a new nurse who is Russian and she intimidated me with her math. She asked me for my height and I only know it in imperial so I said 6 foot 2 inches. I took out my phone to look it up in metric since people usually look at me like a lunatic but she just goes “188cm”.

Another little update on my #weightlossjourney. I got a little behind on posting here but I’ve started walking more regularly. Right now I’m getting about 1.5-2km in the evening after work and am going for 5km on the weekends (also to help keep my activity level up without work).

#booksky One of my favorite books of all time has this great message about humanity and our propensity for destruction and hatred and how we should work against that towards tolerance and understanding that which is foreign to us. I’ve read it seven times since reading it the first time (2013).

#DarkMatter was a mind bending read. I read a lot of sci-fi and this was markedly different; it wasn’t about space and galactic empires, it was a more grounded story which simultaneously raised really interesting points. #booksky

Another book series that is new to me this year… #TheBigOverEasy is a strange take on a murder mystery comedy. It definitely has some charm and the jokes are plentiful. Some of the plot feels a little over used but in general I liked it. The premise is so ridiculous…

So update on the #weightlossjourney I’m three months in and down 12kg (26lbs). I stalled a little bit in fall break because I wasn’t walking as much or climbing four flights of stairs five times a day. Gonna have to make sure I combat that over Christmas break.

Recently discovered #RichardOsman book series #TheThursdayMurderClub. It is fantastic. I’m on book three now and it’s only been a week. I’ve been listening to the audio book while I drive, walk my dog, and clean and they are so good. The writing is hilarious, I can’t help but love these pensioners.
