We all have our own ideas about what we would have liked the MSX3 to be back then. I've decided to build my own with Claude. My own #MSX at the same time I learn electronics. Started this summer and it's been a fun process Hope to be able to show something functional next year at the Malaga meetup

A test cartridge and two speakers connected to the board.

We saw an incredible demo from @nightstalkermsx.bsky.social , a huge production bringing the best of the #MSX scene. I have nothing but good things to say about the MSX community. I believe that the MSX is in a vibrant period and is shining brighter than ever. The best is yet to come. 2/3

All mods are 3D printed and reversible. Replaced the power supply with a new one (-900 gr), added a power booster for 12V and mini magnets to keep the handle in place. Quite happy with the result. #MSX

The Sony HB-101 is too beautiful to keep it in a box. Solution: wall-mounted with magnets. Museum display meets instant playability, just lift it off and plug it in. Best of both worlds. #MSX

By the way, I saw it here. 192KB VDP upgrade for #MSX Turbo R

VDP supports 192KB!?
Now, this is a bit of an unconventional modification. Frankly, it's a bit of a cheat, but I think it'll deliver decent results. The idea is to increase the turbo R's video RAM by a further 64 kilobytes. With SCREEN12, that means you get a full screen's worth of buffer. Since it reduces the number of times data needs to be read from disk, it can also be applied to animations.

Yesterday, I saw a Sanyo Wavy3 at the #MSXMalagaMeeting owned by @fiteblog.bsky.social, and it's a fascinating #MSX. (I forgot to take photos) It's an MSX computer with three slots! *Each of these slots is a primary slot*, and each can be expanded up to four slots. 1/2

Photo of the MSX Hard Catalog, showing the Sanyo Wavy3 page.

"The sight of three cartridges inserted is spectacular Sanyo WAVY3. The WAVY3 is an MSX-standard personal computer released by Sanyo Electric. At first glance, the design itself is quite ordinary for an MSX: a silver-colored, keyboard-integrated body. Looking at the catalog specs, the back seems a bit sparse due to the lack of a printer port, and the 16KB main memory isn't particularly unusual either. However, this machine possesses a unique feature found on no other MSX:
three cartridge slots lined up on the top of the unit. It's an MSX computer with three slots! Each of these slots is a primary slot, and each can be expanded up to four slots. If you're so inclined, you can utilize up to 3 × 4 = 12 slots. Moreover, above the cursor keys is a slot select button, allowing you to switch which slot is active. By using this wisely, you can build and switch environments tailored to specific tasks: Slot A for kanji ROM + word processor cartridges, Slot B for memory expansion + music cartridges, Slot C for communication-related cartridges... and so on. This setup promises to deliver the ultimate MSX environment."

The four buttons are used to change the primary slot.

Finally! I fixed my #MSX TurboR floppy disk. AliExpress belts won't work; you can see the difference in the picture. Buyee's one is more expensive, but I wanted to get it fixed. The Panasonic one (top) is more rigid and a bit lower than 3mm in height. The rubber quality is also of a higher standard

Two different rubber belts. The top one is from Panasonic, with no reflections, and it is more rigid.
