Growing up is accepting that some of your best work is gonna involve ponies.

Pulled my old 3DS from the closet today; haven't pulled this thing out in years! Was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was holding a charge, too! Microphone's probably still borked, but that's not an issue. It's still more fuel for the early 2000s game binge I've been on as of late!

Shoutouts to @highquality.rip on the RE:SPH ARG. The amount of care and effort that went into every branch, especially regarding the universal mechanics of the story, with their themes all coming together at the very end, is superb. This isn't even getting into the games and music spread throughout!
Haruka: It's about time to smash this motherfuckin' like button!

Back in September, my parents and I went on a trip back to Nova Scotia, having left the province 18 years ago. This Christmas, I decided to remake one of the pictures I took during our many car rides for my Mom. The look on her face made the effort absolutely worth it. #acrylic #painting
A cloudy skyline stretches across one of Nova Scotia's lakes. The retreating tide reveals dark, mossy rocks that separate the dense bushes from the water. On top of the barrier, a metal boat can be seen, partially hidden behind trees. An acrylic reinterpretation of the previous image, emphasizing the general shapes and colours of the landscape.

Even after the renovations, the plaque is still there. 🥲
A screenshot from within SCP-079's containment chamber in 'SCP: Secret Laboratory'. Enclosed in concrete, an old 70s styled computer is fenced off in the furthest corner. On the wall adjacent to the temperamental machine, a plaque is lit by a fluorescent light.Another screenshot, this time up close to the plaque. The text and names inscribed on it - including mine - are now legible.

'This plaque commemorates "The Beginning", an ARG that ran from 16 December 2019 to 19 December 2019. That you to all who participated and made the event the best it could be.'

Update: Gave up on trying to use IE8; enabling anything beyond TLS 1.0 on XP is like pulling teeth. Ended up installing the Mypal Browser instead, which worked instantly! Since it's based off Firefox 68, it's also not horribly out of date - in practice, this means minimal breakage of website styles!

Also, to add another adjective: Human. While I rarely saw GenAI as I've tried my hand at building a music feed (this thread has been invaluable btw), I did notice how regular bot accounts can make the feed more noisy. Luckily, moderation lists can be used to easily remove these posts.

Something worth keeping in mind is how feeds are constructed, which is primarily done by filtering for keywords within posts. Different keywords can be prone to misnomer posts; for example, "composition" is also used by graphic artists. While specificity does help, unrelated posts can still slip in.

Haven't mentioned it here yet, but @plantboychi.bsky.social, @kvlmiv.bsky.social, and I have been working on a webcomic called COVALRIA for the last three years. Seven months ago, we started releasing shorts to offer a taste of what we've been cooking. Tomorrow, we start the main course. art: kalil
A torn up comic page that's been taped back together. There's plenty of missing chunks around the edges, but the imagery is still readable.

"You often forget the simple pleasures in life. The chirping of birds, the gentle swaying of the trees, the soft scent of the wind."

Hey there, Leslie here! I'm a Canadian artist with a broad interest in creative mediums. Whether it's game design, music production, building websites, or something I accidentally stumble into, I enjoy exploring various fields and expanding what I can do! Hope to see you around!
A screenshot from a level in a 3D video game. Florescent lights glow against exposed catwalks, support beams, and trusses in a sci-fi warehouse. Faint silhouettes obscured by fog give the impression that these structures go on for miles. A screenshot of a level in a 2D puzzle game. Its layout tightly packed into the size of the picture, the environment is a grungy laboratory that's beginning to encounter some overgrowth. Lights within the space cast shadows against the brick walls. Two characters stand in the centre of a former break room, with some of the tables legs given in.
