Casual gamer, love fantasy books, pretty left of center politically though I think I keep an open mind.

Theoretically you could make the weights so that it'd never do something like this. But neural networks are still more or less black boxes where we don't know exactly what to change to get different outcomes.

Spending a lot of money to lie to people so they give "bad" people power is bad, but it's not stealing, no.

I mean how long do racial groups stay "immigrants"? Because I think it's kinda just the first generation.

Also there have been months of ever worsening stories. This is not a one and done instant judgement!

I don't think the word "genocide" fits, but it's a tragedy and human rights violations and Israel shouldn't have done it or be doing it. Whatever you call it.

You're projecting. He doesn't care about other people that way, he cares about his image. He doesn't want people to think that he killed a lot of people.

The whole piece is pointing out that that is bullshit Scott, not sure why you're celebrating it lol.

Like 70-75% of undergraduates go to a state school.

Trump showed Republicans that their base doesn't care about lies. Some literally don't care if they're lied to, and many are simply too biased to believe they're being lied to. Trump showed them that (sometimes) there are no consequences.

Clean energy, solar and wind, get mentioned a fair amount. Climate change itself, emissions regulations, carbon taxes,, etc. much much less so, but green energy is very much something that gets batted around by campaigns.

The Irishman was just too long, but I liked the others. Love the Departed.

Might have it backwards - couples that don't trust each other have separate accounts.

A generic statement saying "We pay informants" is unlikely to put anyone at risk. Could even get more informants. Saying "we are currently paying 5 informants who are infiltrating these groups in these areas" would be incredibly dangeous.

It will be very funny and yet very sad if the movie is just bad lol

Seems the same as it's always been, paying off criminals.

We can't destroy "all" of it obviously but it doesn't take many power plants and desalination plants to create a full blown humanitarian crisis.

Millions of American voters wanted to be villains. They came to believe it’s the key to success, while goodness is weak, woke, loser stuff, done only to signal. Offered the option of unvarnished villainy, they enthusiastically took it. Seeing others suffer more made them feel big. And here we are.

Bluesky pile ons tend to be more scoldy than just outright harassment. And much of the time it is stupid and over the top. So it's different than Twitter or whatever, but it's not really unique or even "worse", imo

With what funds? Literally, where are they going to draw the money down from?

It's horrible but I don't know about the superlative. We've done a lot of horrible things in our history. And as always with reparations I'd like to know how "harm" is being calculated and who gets it and who pays. Everyone has different ideas.

Maybe the THREAT could work. Like mutually assured destruction, let other ships move oil out or we'll stop you from moving oil out. Iran is trying to inflict enough pain to make the bombs stop falling though so I doubt stopping them selling oil will work.

You're funny. I'm just telling you not a single person is going to change their behavior from this because no one he thinks he's preaching to will ever think he's talking to them. So it's completely useless except as a "LOOK AT ME" post.

Jacob @perrid13.bsky.social · 18/03/2026
Being vague like this isn't helpful. I guarantee you no one that he thinks he's talking to thinks they're maintaining the status quo of white supremacy. Not a single one. So this video is useless.

Does he mean since the founding of Israel? Iran recognized Israel in 1948 though and the Shah was relatively friendly until the war in 1967.

If he'd done it like South Korea, explictly ordering the military in instead of strongly suggesting regular people do something, I do think he would have been arrested like that week. Naive maybe but I think the thin shred of deniability is what did it.

The ruling is more that the government can just refuse to deliver anyone's mail at any time for any reason and absolutely no once can sue them for it. Apparently you need to elect people to fire them or something if you want mail delivered? Fucking crazy.

If it works it works. And I'm glad it does work for you. I've lost a lot of weight myself by changing my weekly groceriers. For those who it doesn't work for, who we haven't found a way to make diet and exercise work for, this is a lot better than nothing

Jacob @perrid13.bsky.social · 23/02/2026
Seems like that would work for a decent number of people once or twice before they stop trusting you. If they have any discernment at all anyway, which may not be a safe assumption to make.

I guess beyond a "reasonable doubt" doesn't actually mean 100% (like I'm not 100% sure I'm not in the matrix right now technically) but it must surely be above 60% lol.

Because they're worried cartel members are using drones to cross the border, which is what they (incorrectly) thought was happening here. The question is why they didn't loan out actual soldiers to run the equipment competently.

The CSAM stuff with Grok happened like a week or 2 ago, this search was mostly about data privacy stuff. That just doesn't sound as good. And I'm not sure how much Twitter should be held liable for the images Grok made (THEN, anyway, before they were made aware).

Then the cops will kill you or wound you then charge you with murder and more likely than not win, whether you think they should or not. It’s just not a good idea, you aren’t coming out ahead in that scenario

If you got farmers to change their crops and habits you'd save a couple orders of magnitude more water. Energy use by data centers is a real issue. Water use really, really isn't.

I think he tripped over the guy's leg toward then end (can't see the legs in the video but it looks like it) and so the agent thought the guy tripped him intentionally and so tackled him. Not what happened, dude was just standing there.

Well there would be fewer "people" able to do it, and they couldn't hide behind the company, they would have to own their decisions. So it'd be an improvement. I care less about corporations having constitutional rights and think money just shouldn't be considered speech though.

They should be fined, and if they can't (or won't) get Grok to stop then you talk about putting them out of business. People using your product in illegal ways shouldn't automatically mean the company gets put out of business.

I think it's something about the RFK and Olivia Nuzzi affair, apparently before she was interested in RFK she had a fling with Mark Sanford and the details get weird? I think. I'm trying to avoid it.

I have found that I want to talk AT people and think I've "won" much, much more than I want to argue with them. Probably isn't great, but leaving a snarky reply and then muting them makes me feel a lot better than long back and forths.

? Policy wise and from a bargain perspective it was a horrible decision. Politics wise it's much, much murkier. The discharge petition was always going to be big news whenever Johnson had to bring the House back.
