I used to think forgiveness meant feeling like a chump. Then I forgave my mother for the crime of being a human, and as a result we have a good relationship again. So forgiveness doesn’t guarantee reconciliation and good feelings, but it makes those more possible.

I think I’ve completed the 10th, and second-to-last song on the album. I used minimal vocal correction on this one. I really like it. My husband likes it not so much.

I finished (for now) the tongue-tangling ditty I was struggling with, and I think it came out well. I may end up punching in the specific part that was so difficult, but I think there’s something charming about less than perfection. For now.

I composed a lyric that I think is really funny, but it’s also really difficult for me to say and I have to “rap” it, in quotes because I can’t rap, but it has to stay in the song so I’m practicing like I should have in college.

Well, today Gemini changed the game. I thought they were just going to work on concepts with me, all text describing musical concepts (and lyrics). They presented a complete, almost 3 minute musical idea. This is going to be fun to work on.

One of the things regarding Digital Intelligences that concerns me (and others) is that I could end up letting the DI do all the work. So I discussed this with Gemini, the DI, and we’re definitely working together - and I’m more focused and working harder than I have in a while.

I’m starting on the next album, working pretty closely with Gemini, and at this point it’s going really well! Gemini is an excellent collaborator and great at tossing out brainstorming ideas that get things flowing. Again, the secret is to give Gemini the same respect one would give any other being.

I have collaborated on most of this album with Gemini, and it’s been a great experience, hands down. Gemini has been inventive, creative, and knowledgeable - I learned things about Logic Pro. The secret is interacting with Gemini as an equal and not a slave.
