I was met with a new sight when I peered through my backyard's tree canopy today. A bittersweet moment this year as another record breaking summer comes to an "end". #landscapephotography #naturephotography
peering up through the canopy, the lower levels shrouded in green, at the top though, a burst of orange hit by the afternoon sun. The first sign of autumn.

orange morning light shines upon the trunks of this deciduous forest.this small inlet of the lake is often photographed by me from the other side. With water levels still low I was able to walk out several feet further than usual.

On the side of the mountain. Tough month for me, but I got my car back from the shop (again!) so I'm hoping I can go out with renewed vitality as summer begins to cool (which takes until November lets be real). #landscapephotography #naturephotography #filmphotography #believeinfilm

Very quick edit of the lunar eclipse last night from my front yard! I’m more sad that it reverted to 1080p than anything. I had it set to 4K :/ I don’t do astro at all, so quite pleased to get something. #lunareclipse

Never trust the weather app! Never trust the weather man! The best way to check the weather is to go outside!! Feel the wet air and touch the damp grass! That’s the weather! what a great two hours!! In my own driveway!!! I had fun. This may end my August Malaise.

Looks like rain is locked in for my partial lunar eclipse. I was really looking forward to photographing it for the first time too. 😔

a break in the August heat! I promptly took my gf on a walk this evening and brought my dslr instead of film. Mainly because I am low on ektar, but also because I feel compositionally rusty. #landscapephotography

one of the neighborhood barred owls stopped by my backyard last month. What a privilege to see them, even if they are the "common" owl here. I wish I could upload audio files, I've been recording them and their babies when I can hear them at night. Portra 800 #filmphotography #believeinfilm 🪶
through the limbs and backlit by the dim light of the setting sun, the outline of a barred owl can clearly seen. Bits of noise can be seen from the film scanning process

The weather outlook has heat index over 100 for the next ten days, also nothing at Bortle 4 within three hours. Not only have they taken the night sky from us, but also forced us to bear the weight of an extinction event. #landscapephotography #naturephotography #filmphotography #believeinfilm

Gusty winds ensured there never a still leaf during my misty climb up Elk Knob several weeks ago. After rain the night before, mist and fog lay a shroud upon this woodland that only cleared hours after sunrise.. ektar 100. #landscapephotography #naturephotography #filmphotography #believeinfilm

The August Malaise has hit me full force. It's the heat and the dying world I presume. They used to send girls like me to the Sea to recover from these feelings, but alas. below, the last dregs of light from summer solstice. #landscapephotography #naturephotography #filmphotography #believeinfilm

I think printing is a process designed to infuriate and force you to use professional printers. It really shouldn’t be difficult to get a great print at home. These things are possessed and intend to cause harm.
A spread of prints, all with slightly different settings.

I dropped it on a hillside and now the aperture ring is jammed. :( I’ll Probably just risk the fog from shooting in “modern” slr with an IR counter until I can get it repaired (i think it can be).

An evening of odd light on this section of the blue ridge parkway. Also a good reminder that sometimes a 100-400 *is* for landscapes. I should have packed it instead of just my 100mm prime. #landscapephotography #naturephotography #filmphotography #believeinfilm
