just had a press enquiry about genAI use in the anthology and I did not design every single one of the 500 pages to be disrespected like that

The Psychodyssey documentary series was a fascinating insight into game development but absolute red flag central and I couldn't believe they were okay with showing it on camera to people

I downloaded it straight away, too 😔

The biggest tell about the Linux demographic is that the built-in app browser has an app that plans rail journeys for you on the front page

Installed Bazzite on my PC some time ago to use it as a living room PC but since getting the Steam Machine it has been relegated back to being a moving-little-guys-around-a-map machine and what a treat it is to use an OS that is so fast and use all these well-designed open-source alternatives

yooooo filming this was so much fun - can't wait to show you the book once it lands!!

The costs largely make the sale unviable. The basic duty fee going up to 5EUR/HS line is nuts and easily nudges the cost of shipping to be equal to the cost of a cheaper item

Eryk @peregrinecoast.press · 01/10/2026

I recently saw an instagram reel (ironically, yes) which talked about how people conflate commentary with culture, and it really stuck with me. people love to yap! influencers, "content creators", vloggers, talking as substitute for creating

030

Eryk @peregrinecoast.press · 01/10/2026

actually I love that the docs were published on the 21st of September giving us like... a month and change to adapt?

020

Eryk @peregrinecoast.press · 01/10/2026

Technically its customs line! Two of the same item will be charged one fee, but two different items will be charged the fee twice

Eryk @peregrinecoast.press · 01/10/2026

Uuuuuuh yeah, pretty much!

Eryk @peregrinecoast.press · 01/10/2026

Heads up to everyone who sells to the EU: from November 1st, the EU is introducing a new €2 customs handling fee per customs line, on top of the €3 duty fee that came in a couple of months ago. Each item will now cost a flat €5 before we even get into VAT!

Frequently think about putting more time and effort into PCP socials and it’s the kind of thing that would pay massive dividends but like, the small business meta is just posting about shutting down, general rancid petit bourgeois politics, and the odd thought leader wank

(the personal circumstance is going on holiday with my friends so it's actually a very good tradeoff)

Eryk @peregrinecoast.press · 28/09/2026

It’s not as glamorous as actually doing it but I was invited to speak at both Zagreb Design Week and East Creative Conference in Lublin, Poland this month and couldn’t make either due to personal circumstances, but I still want the clout of being an internationally recognised designer so

we live in a world where "humanity is rotten to the core" is a more tolerable idea than "capitalism is kinda busted" but what I love about "capitalism is kinda busted" is realizing every good thing that happens is in spite of capitalism because humans are that committed to doing good things

Heroes 3 was and still is hugely popular across Eastern Europe because of decent localisation, hotseat multiplayer, and the fact it can run on anything. Every Slav I know has played that game haha

Really love the work that Zoe Bread is doing but goddamn if it isn’t indicative of the very British attitude of letting someone else get on with it. Lots of goodfeel to cheer her on and ask her to take on the next cause, less so to do it yourself

Poster for a tabletop game event, featuring a messy game of Magic the Gathering. There are medieval tankards and dice on the table, and a goblin's hand is playing a creature card.

Awful awful for shipping and storing but a Swiss binding would be a good lay-flat mid point between an exposed spine and a spiral binding. Plus if you add French flaps you can put reference material on the inside of them!!
