it kinda sucks being an openly black artist because people will not only speak over you or prop up your blackness for their own performativity; but they also hold black individuals to a higher expectation than other non black people and it really goes deep.

Ruined.

Abstract digital piece (procreate) inspired by the two years I lived in my previous home that we discovered was mold infested about two years into renting there. We could never figure out what was wrong until water flooded our basement and those dispatched to fix it found lifetimes of black mold growing throughout the bottom and sides of the home.

A piece I want to expand on more once I have the energy. A piece full of flashes of fear and painful memories and realization.
