Instead of condemning American-Israeli aggression to resolve the Hormuz strait situation, Anita Anand called Iran "the principal threat to peace and security". The US is now dictating Canadian domestic economic policy in addition to our foreign policy!

The youngest person his pager attack killed was 9-year-old Fatima Abdullah, who had just started 4th grade. The pager was on a table when it went off and she picked it up to take to her dad. It exploded in her face and reports said it covered the room in her blood. She wanted to learn English.

Canadians — you and me — are set to pay for yet another oil pipeline that could devastate an at-risk killer whale population and worsen the climate crisis. Well, provided everything progresses as Mark Carney announced alongside a beaming Alberta Premier Danielle Smith last night. Here's why:

This is a horrible decision for the economy and the environment. You should be ashamed. Canadians didn't vote for more pipelines

their reporting on screams without words, on Mahmoud Khalil, on Al Shifa hospital, on Adam Hamawy, the killing of WCK workers, on campus anti-semitism, on BDS, and their smears on any number of pro palestine advocates doesn't give you pause?

PercolatorFish @percolatrfish.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
that is true. I just find it nearly impossible to believe that the NYT would have published this unverifiable claim, by someone who's written speeches for his opponent, if they were against an establishment, pro-israel candidate.

I've been hesistant to be excited about Platner given his Blackwater backgrond and previous fascist attitudes. However, the nyt running the unsubstantiated claims of a career maga operative against him was, for me, the first real green flag that he would fight entrenched interests as a senator
100
PercolatorFish @percolatrfish.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
the nyt didn't make these accusations and explicitly said they didn't have evidence of it. They just wrote an entire article boosting a maga operative's claims

israel systematically uses ethnoreligious checkpoints, so maybe you should have been protesting with the students if you oppose them so much!
000
PercolatorFish @percolatrfish.bsky.social · 09/04/2026
no, but using one instance when there were tens of thousands of protesters to denounce the entire movement is bad faith, still waiting on the citation bozo
000
PercolatorFish @percolatrfish.bsky.social · 09/04/2026
also citation needed for widespread checkpoints and beating up of janitors, or did you just take the worst edge cases to bolster your stupid ass argument?

they have no power. two years later, you scold 18 year olds when democrats did nothing to stop a genocide. without them it would have been worse. they had no leaders except themselves, due to democrat corruption. israel killed how many innocent Lebanese yesterday, did chuck schumer say anything?
000
PercolatorFish @percolatrfish.bsky.social · 09/04/2026
the protests were overwhelmingly non-violent. Why do you blame children for the failure of adults? If you knew anything about the west bank and gaza before oct 7 you knew israel would commit war crimes. MLK had a disapproval rating of 75%, and like today's students, would be vindicated

PercolatorFish @percolatrfish.bsky.social · 09/04/2026
Would you argue MLK and Selma marchers aren't responsible for the civil rights act, but white supremacists are?
100
PercolatorFish @percolatrfish.bsky.social · 09/04/2026
gaza was butchered by democrats, if they didn't listen to students republicans openly supportive of war crimes certainly won't. 2.5 years later the protesters have succeeded in moving public opinion. 60% of Americans have unfavourable views of Israel. This is why there are no longer protests

fair enough, but poverty reduction is good, as are renewables. Broadly condemning the CCP as a dictatorship when they have achieved good things that other countries have failed to do is silly, and they wouldn't do these things if their populations had no agency over the CCP's actions

Then why is it still standing 80 years later? If China is in fact a dictatorship, do you believe it will collapse after the death of Jinping? Why didn't it collapse after Jintao, as other dictatorships do upon the death of their leaders?

America, while being a democracy, is effectively governed by a billionaire class entirely unaccountable to its citizenry, a fact epitomized by Jeffrey Epstein, who had deep ties with both parties
110
PercolatorFish @percolatrfish.bsky.social · 29/03/2026
one party states and dictatorships aren't the same thing. The CCP isn't a dictatorship because it's accountable to its population and has earned the consent of its population to govern, in large part because of its competency in improving the average material reality of its citizens
