Some miniatures for a Finnish civil war project using Red Action Rules (more in ALT notes) The Finnish Civil War broke out in January 1918, shortly after Finland declared independence from Russia in December 1917. The country quickly split between the socialist Reds and the conservative Whites. 1/5

Battalion of Red Guards - mix of Peter Pig, Eureka, Battlefront - volksturm, partizans, resistance, and ww1 soldiers painted in different colours to represent non-uniformity clothes. Some units obtained military uniforms but many Red Guardsmen wore civilian clothing, workers clothes, caps, or mixed military garments. Red armbands were an important identifying feature.

Each row is a company and each base is a platoon, with the battalion commander/hq represented by the round base.

Using Red Action Rules. About halfway done with this project.

Will miss my wargames Maestro when he heads off to Uni! It has gone far too quickly. It feels like only yesterday that he was a little boy. Wargaming becomes so much more than just a hobby, it has given us countless memories, lots of laughs, and precious time together that I will always treasure.

Started rebasing my 6mm SYW a while ago, done it in smaller batches, this is the last and the worst phase is over. Liberated at last! I let the MDF bases stand in water for a few days - helps removing the models but also limits the exposure of the MDF dust as the bases are soaked with water!
