Just got home from Knoydart 🥰 Glenfinnan to Inverie over 3 days with Mark from Team Walking. The last wilderness and mainland UK's most remote pub. Am pretty much speechless about this trip. Just amazing.

Couple of lovely days up north. Walked Ambleside to Coniston on Saturday and Kentmere to Ambleside today. Stayed in the van at a rugby club one night and a school the next, both great and an excellent way for them to raise funds so I think its a win win. And decent weather too!

New book today from The Cabinet of Curiosities in Haworth. The smell in the shop is delightful and there is some really interesting stuff in there. Could have filled the van with all sorts of witchcraft and remedies but for now I will entertain myself with stories of poisonings .... 😆

Having a few days away in the north. Not doing what I hoped to be doing as feeling incredibly fatigued, physically and mentally. Instead am doing a lot of chilling and just being. And what a great place to do that. A steady walk, dinner at The Lion Inn and watch the dog watching the sun go down ❤️

Feeling sad tonight. My 2nd DNF of the year. The first one I understood, 73 miles into the LDWA 100, a couple of weeks after my mum passed away. But today, not even halfway into 37 miles of Isaac's Tea Trail, I just couldn't find the mental strength to continue. Lovely route tho'

LDWA Flower of Suffolk 100 miles, what an event! Made it to 70+miles at Orford before deciding I didn't have another 30 miles in me 😅 No regrets on the DNF, just some quite sore feet. Well done to everyone who took part 👏

We spent a couple of days on an Outdoors First Aid course at the beginning of the week, enjoyed that. And today before heading home, a gentle explore of the Black Mountains, Lord Hereford's Knob to Waun Fach and back across to Gospel Pass. Very pleasant

Yesterday my wonderful fun loving mum sadly passed away. Although we had the opportunity to prepare ourselves over the last few weeks, it has hit me harder than I ever thought possible. I am going to miss her so much. I have been so fortunate to have had her in my life ❤️

Oh this rollercoaster of a ride that dementia is giving us 💔 Ups and downs, those peaks getting smaller (but still there), those troughs getting deeper and more painful. Feeling very grateful to now have Marie Curie help alongside mum's amazing carers but my goodness this is a long and sad ride

Followed the sun round yesterday taking part in the Cyril Bean Coventry Way Challenge, a 40 mile loop never more than 5 miles from the centre of Cov but you'd never have known. Set off before the sun came up and finished after it had set. Should have taken more photos
