It’s been a little while since we’ve had a Kennel Match so let’s celebrate with one featuring Wile E. Coyote! When it comes to that guys boxing career, what else can you say other than “that’s all, folks”? Art was done by the zaney, and/or looney @hydewackdraws.bsky.social

The first panel shows Dennis in a boxing ring, arms raised as he gets ready to fight Wile E. who is standing in the opposite corner. The dog is wearing blue and black boxing gloves and trunks while Wile E. Coyote is wearing green trunks and red boxing gloves. The opportunistic scavenger seems to be holding something in his hand.

The second panel zooms in and shows the coyote sporting a massive grin and holding an extendable boxing glove gizmo (presumably bought from the Acme catalogue). No doubt he plans to cheat his way to victory. As the fight is about to begin, he clicks the button to try and use it on his opponent.

The third panel shows the gadget backfiring spectacularly as the extendable boxing glove shoots upwards before it comes crashing down onto the users skull. Wile E. visibly recoils in pain as the background is consumed by a red and orange explosion. To emphasize the pain, a big “BLAM!!!” sound effect floats by his head.

Finally, the fourth panel shows Wile E. Coyote lying on the floor and looking like roadkill. His eyes are X’ed out, stars hover above his head, his arms and legs are curled up and his contraption lies next to him. The bell rings out and a “TKO” effect pops up to further emphasize how the coyote wound up knocking himself out. Meanwhile, a visibly concerned Dennis stands over his opponent with question marks hovering near his face. Evidently, he’s feeling both concerned over Wile E.’s self-inflicted injury and disappointment that he “won” the fight without having laid a finger on his opponent.

Let's wrap up this current backlog of Kennel Match stuff with a piece I commissioned for Halloween this year. Yep, it's “Jon Talbain from Darkstalkers versus Lucas!” Lineart was done by the kind @boxingdinosaur.bsky.social while coloring was done by the blissful @kenjikuroneki.bsky.social

Jon Talbain is laying on the ground after a brutal boxing match with Lucas. The monster fighter is covered in a thick patch of bruises and his eyes are bug-eyed and swollen from the fight. Next to him on the floor is a bloody pile of his own teeth and his discarded mouthguard. Meanwhile, Lucus is looking down at him. The doberman looks positively demonic as his face is partially obscure with shadows and his eyes are glowing yellow. As he stares down at the injured heavyweight, Lucas says "JUST!!! STAY!!! DOWN!!!" in big, violent looking text.

Sneaking in the Family Guy Death Pose really is on the same level as sneaking in the Akira Slide for us animation folk. It's impact on our collective psyche is immeasurable.

Raww from Forgotten island crumpled flat on the ground with his arms jutting out in odd angles. A clear homage to the pose Peter Griffin from Family guy when knocked unconcious.
