straight friends, to being happily married for 10 years, (17 together,) surrounded by gays/lesbians/trans/bi/pan people. I generally don't think I have one friend that's fully straight 😅 but very happy by everyone I'm surrounded in. Took a long time to get here, but it was worth it.

I basically hated every gay guy I met. Either they were that stereotypical gay guy, or thought they were supposed to be. I never felt that way. I always felt that I was me, but I just never felt like I belonged in the community, until much later in life. I went from only ever having lesbian or

I still have never found a "bear" community to be part of, but better yet, I just found average gays/lesbians/bi people who were of all shapes and sizes. I went through a very similar experience to you. Being overweight in the gay world, especially when I was younger, is/was not great. It also made me think I was supposed to like things that I didn't, like the Abercrombie models you mentioned, when I really liked hairy, tattooed, non-model-abed men.
