BTW even more frustrating is if I do explain my PTSD comes from, to me at least, it sounds so fucking minimal compared to what others have gone through. I know it's valid, but doesn't make it feel better knowing that it's not something that my brain doesn't move on from.

Random Thoughts: I will always be envious of people that can get off. You know exactly what I mean! Unwilling Ace btw, it does suck my ptsd fu'd me up so much that I just...geniuenely can't get off. Imagine how much that ruined relationships. Having to explain it's not them it's literally me suxs.

I will say it has been difficult all around for everyone, I know a lot of people that want to be able to get art but these months are the hardest in terms of rent, food, sicknesses, and so on for unexpected and expected costs. For what it's worth, I would have grabbed a comm if I had the funds :(

Oh, I never thought of it that way. When I was asked what I wanted to learn how to draw, I said everything and anything I can learn from. I feel there is so much to learn and I want to catch up and leanr it all if possible.

Agreed! I'm an ELA teacher and while I have to teach in the forumalic way, when it comes to creative writing I always tell kids, then just make it yours, even if I don't like it it just means im not the audience for your writing.

The closes to fanart I've done is the charizard I practiced recently, and long ago invader zim. But I couldn't get that feeling compared to when I was sketching out charizard funny enough. I now feel satisfied even when my art isn't pretty (yet) but it is progress and proof of me trying.

I can see how frustrating it is. I'm slowly learning, and as I learn, I want to get it right, not by the standards of anyone else, and not the easy route, I want to do it for me, right. I want to learn how others in the past did it, I find it exciting to learn these skills, I don't want to cheat.

I think this is why I appreciated the creator of Faith, he used himself as a reference for rotoscoping in a pixel digital horror game where the cutscenes are rotoscopes. He set it up and acted it out and used that. Yet, ppl didn't try learning like he did, instead just...trace. It's just ick to me.

Oh my god yes, I thought when people meant tracing originally I always assumed it was just to get the basic shapes down for like dynamic poses or in comics (old school disney style) I didn't realize what it meant till now, ppl can be such leaches!

I'm more than likely going to be trapped in this job for a long while till I'm dead (up to me when that is too), if that's the case, I really have to figure out how to milk it for what it is worth, but I have to find something that is worth. Hard when you can't think of the future only the now.

When I think of portfolios, I sometimes want to see what else an artist has in their skillset. You have such a diverse skillset, I think only having a limited amount in a portfolio to display feels like I'm only ever scratching the surface of what you can do. ^w^ More artist should show like you!
