I wanted to talk about #HeatedRivalry since I watched it this month along with everyone else it seems! I've read the book it's based on, and I want to discuss the differences between them and how I think the show made changes in an impactful way. I also think some of the popularity of the show […]

I know everyone has a lot of gripes with the prequels But this is really my only one: how Anakin's character is written starting in ep2. He should be an extremely complex character but that's been flattened down to fit in the movie too much and the entire plot and sub-romance plot suffers for […]

Happy Holidays from #MONSTERDON 🎄🦖🎄🦖🎄🦖🎄🦖🎄🦖🎄🦖

Three pics of a Godzilla-shaped Christmas tree in a mall.
The first one is a medium close shot showing green foliage-like color and white lights all over with realistic-looking Godzilla spines on the back.
The second pic is a close-up of the Godzilla tree's head blowing out smoke. The third pic is from even closer showing the red eyes.

Hmm still confused about what gets bridged and what doesn't. For instance, that post I just made linking to multiple fan events didn't get bridged. It's ok because I found a post on blusky that already linked to them all today, but their not bridged so can't boost on this account

I also made my wishlist for @dbdaghostmas over on tumblr. I don't expect really any fills, but I wanted to participate! #deadboydetectives #dbda #dbdaWishlist2024

Wishlist:
- pre-canon, Edwin's first Christmas with Charles
- First time Edwin gives Charles a gift
- Crystal and Niko (who's alive), celebrate Christmas with the boys

Reading more #obikin big bang fics and this one was so good but so angsty! It's a canon divergent au where anakin doesn't fall but he and obi wan are still separated after the war ends 💔 archiveofourown.org/works/60881884/… Also I really regret not submitting obiwan […]

Ended up rambling a bit (a lot) cuz someone mentioned casually about hand-binding zines being.. not normal? On an old post I made about my collab zine's budget. Very interesting to think about not-hand-binding being considered normal now in fandom spheres […] [Original post on blorbo.social]

tags from another person's reblog of my post:

#zines #zine finances #this is amazing #this is exactly what I was hoping to find to confirm i'm not insane for wanting to hand bind my own zines LOL #THANK YOU OP you're the bomb#reference

My reply:

Really glad you found this helpful! And you very much are not insane for handbinding your zines - that WAS the norm before $50 fandom megazine-artbooks became popular! Whether it's just stapling your own zines, or sewing them together with thread and needle.

Hell, even my graphics up here are on the "high end" for what I consider zines, because of the high page count and use of color. Ideally a zine should cost like $0 to make cuz you printed it on your work printer and used boss man's dollars on the hour :P

I even think that the hand-made aspect of DIY zines should be valued more over the $50 fandom megazine-artbooks :P Shouldn't something handmade be more expensive than something mass produced by a printer 3000 miles away? 🤔But the core of a zine should be accessibility of price and information so that both the maker and reader can make and read things easily, and that's why DIY zines outside of the fandom definition often go for $5 or free.

Anyways. yeah. rambling. Everyone, staple two pieces of paper together and call that a zine!!! Don't wait 8 months for a printer in China to cancel on you because the shipping ends up costing $5000 over your budget! Your budget could actually be $5 or $0 or best offer!!

TF2 GORL SCOUT ZINE BUDGET! Overall the price is $349 for printing the zines and the stickers and the postcards and the shipping materials and shipping prices including free shipping to all contributors. The goal is to make $649 to compensate $20 to each contributor (15 overall).
