create ------------------ bonus comics: patreon.com/nhoj

4 panel comic

P1: a right hand draws a wavy stroke on a sketchbook page. A caption box up top reads "draw"

P2: the word "CREATE" dominates a panel with a black background, forming in the negative space. Various small shapes surround it.

P3: a lone simplified humanoid figure is on the bottom right of a another panel with a black background. A thought bubble forms above their head, the words "if not for others, then at least for yourself" within.

P4: The Earth dominates the bottom of the panel, with a sliver of space above it. Clouds swirl and boil across the Earth, which is the only element on the entire page coloured a pink-red. A caption box above reads "now, more than ever"

somedays, i wish to have a life of zero obligations. No expectations from or to anyone. Nothing asked of me. Just do what i want, when i want, however i want, no one to tell me otherwise, just whatever i want on a given day. then i remember how unrealistic that all is.

A lot of creative folks are demoralized right now. Hell, I'm one of them. Maybe some of them are helping you through this rough time. If so, do me a solid: Share their stuff. Drop them a kind word. Tip their Ko-fis, or join their Patreons. It seems like nothing, but it's everything right now. 🤘

i've spent so much time working on a oneshot manga, that after it's done i finally have some time to just relax. i ended up spending much of today completely out of it. I guess those all nighters finally caught up to me. i'm just glad to have actually make something and make a deadline.

These past few weeks i've been making a oneshot manga for the kadokawa wordless manga competition. Will I win? Not likely. But im glad to finally finish a creative project for the first time in a long time and make a story that was entirely mine.

some days I fear that I'll become so apathetic that i won't try to do anything anymore. i've had this fear multiple times lately. That i'll become so numb and detached to everything that i;ll be going through the motions on everything i do.

I'm Sorry - Gator Days

Panel 1

August and Gustopher are walking home from the store with groceries. a carton of eggs has fallen out of the grocery bag and is sitting on the ground.

Gustopher: AH! Dad, I tripped and dropped the eggs.

Panel 2

This moment is making August remember a similar event when he was younger. He has a memory of tripping and dropping eggs.

Gustopher: I'm sorry.

Panel 3

August remembers the reaction from adults who were there in the moment and how it made him feel. He remembers the immediate guilt and inability to articulate an apology.

Memory of an Unseen Adult: WHAT DID YOU DO!?

Memory of August: I- I'm so- So-so-sor-

Memory of an Unseen Adult: Sorry doesn't fix it. Clean it up!

Gustopher: Dad?

Panel 4

August kneels down to check on Gustopher.

August: It's okay. It was an accident. Are you hurt?

Gustopher: I'm fine.

August: That's good. Let's clean this.

i don't even bother trying to convince them otherwise. they want to be in their little bubble and make themselves miserable all the time whining that people exist or cuz they think some group of people is getting something they're too proud to ask for but never direct that energy to the rich.

I got one family member who is parroting the belief Jewish people are to blame for the existence of trans people. I got another family member who hates BLM who is looking at the former with utter shock and disbelief that they would even entertain such ideas. Ain't life in America grand?

#OCs #characterdesign I need to make an effort to post more here. Here's my disorganized line up of original characters for a bigger story i want to make. The basic plot is they all go to the same school and they're all trying to make a movie to submit to a film festival. details not final.

I really wish my family members didn't openly celebrate the California wildfires currently happening and go on endless rants about how much "they deserved it" because the state has gay people or whatever minority they're angry with for existing.

You should watch Jay Dahl’s THERE ARE MONSTERS (2013), in which some graduate students making a film discover a quiet, insidious apocalypse happening all around them. Invasion Of The Body Snatchers by way of Unedited Footage Of A Bear / This House Has People In It. Feels evil.

A smiling woman’s face. There’s something wrong with it.

A cracked window, with a man’s face behind it. His proportions are very wrong.

An aisle in a convenience store. Some bags have fallen. There’s a shadow in a back room.
