Of course there are some extra rules like the Duplicate Rule (if you find the same mon you caught in a previous route you can catch a new one), Shiny Rule (if it’s shiny… Well, you can catch it), level caps, etc; but that’s the main gist of Nuzlocke challenges

Its a challenge where you play the games with a set of self-imposed rule, those being: -Only catching the first Pokémon in each route -Every time a Pokémon faints, its “dead”: you have to release it or box it -Nickname your mons to get more attached to them
