PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Imagine every football game the players dump Gatorade over the winning coach and end in a trophy presentation on a stage. It would be too much and not special! Yes, they make a big deal about the Super Bowl, but it's once a year! 100 0
PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Especially years where one team dominates. The first three or four wins, sure they can muster the excitement. But the eighth race, when you know you're going to win another five or more at least that year? You're faking it up there. 100 0

PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 18/09/2026And the voters will feel the pain of the fixes. And 2032, a new Nazi-adjacent Republican wins to undo all of that. So no, Canada won't align with the US again. The world will not respect the US again. We will breathe a sigh of relief in 2026 and a bigger one in 2028. But we know what's coming. 041 0
PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 18/09/2026So the D's can win in 2028, but don't have the stomach for a true fight. PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Maybe then, we can start to rebuild trust. The damage done to the US reputation is that great. Can America do the minimum necessary things? i doubt it. 121 0
PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 18/09/2026The things I suggest are a start. People need to be ashamed that they ever supported Trump. 251 0
PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 18/09/2026After the structural changes you also need operational changes. You need a purge of MAGA and the right-wing militias. PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 18/09/2026The kinds of real structural changes needed are huge. Remove the Electoral College, add Supreme Court seats, add PR and DC as states. PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 16/09/2026So maybe the money gets invested in small-market airports. But if that's what we want to do, why get the private sector middleman who has to be coaxed and incentivized? Raise big-city airport fees and transfer the money to the small airports. 030 0
PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 16/09/2026And this video - "Our airport will be like those in Europe!! Can you imagine?" Yes, I can imagine it, cause I can't see the difference between an airport in Europe and one of ours. There's stores and fast food and they're all clean. Except Europe has more inter-terminal buses instead of trains. 130 0
PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Not sure what the point is. It's a partial privatization where instead of the airport getting consistent income from the businesses it rents to, the government gets a one-time hit of an infusion of cash and no income. Then airport fees need to increase to compensate for the lost income. 140 0
PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 16/09/2026You would be wrong to think that those are the reasons. 100 0
PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Now you might think it's because I don't have a band or songs or musical career or musical talent or musical instruments or the ability to convert sheet music into songs or a belief that musical tones and notes should be sung in a consistent way or the memory space to memorize lyrics. 100 0

PEterE 🇨🇦 @peliopoulos.bsky.social · 12/09/2026I am hoping that the government is planning on digital and financial sovereignty though, like Europe is starting to. Too much of our financial system is prone to US interference. 100 0
