I did have to look up how to do the 2nd ending, since there is an unintuitive bit around it. Still would recommend it if you enjoy this type of game, well done, cute, and fun. Beat it in about 3.5 hours, though I didn't bother to get all of the palettes.

Elechead - store.steampowered.com/app/1456880/... fun puzzle platformer, the previous game by the dev who did Öoo. Similar sort of game, though with an entirely different mechanic. I think Öoo is better, but this was still quite good.

It was fun to bounce and yoyo around the maps, the combat was punchy, great music, beautiful pixel graphics. I cannot think of anything bad to say about this game, other than that the capybaras were enemies not friends.

Finally, for those of you who started your game and used AI before all the push back. Look for ways to replace it, and try to minimize the impact. I appreciate those of you who include a disclosure of everything you can't take out and being honest and did the best to fix your mistake.

There are other options, and you are shooting yourself in the foot by having to involve any AI in your content. I also realize that this sort of attitude may drive many of you to be dishonest, but remember people will probably find out and it will not look good for you if it happens.

For promotional stuff, learn a new skill and learn to edit videos, there is plenty of resources out there to do that. Or hire someone off fiverr or vgen or the like to help you. Anything you get from there will feel just as good or better than anything AI can generate.

I realize that a lot of that is hard, and rather than take the easy way out, think about other options. Does your game need a translation to other languages immediately? I'm guessing it doesn't, just save up and hire someone to do localization, if your game does well enough.

Dear Solo Devs (Or Small Teams), Keep in mind, if I see an AI disclosure on your page, I will likely not engage with your game. I am not alone in this. And it doesn't matter that you didn't use Gen AI to make the game itself, that also includes promotional materials, translations, etc.

Its very weird, but a delightful find the hidden object game with a weird gun theme. I completed the main missions in about 7 hours while watching stuff. I picked this up because the devs made one of my favorite games (Autonauts), which this is nothing like besides the art style.

In fairness, I don't actually remember the details of the game before, but I had beaten it multiple times many years ago, but I could feel when stuff was different, and I'm not sure I liked them. Still a good game. Took me 19 hours to finish (Though also over a year because I took a break).

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (2024) - This game is great. I played the switch remake for ease of play. I actually cannot find any real major faults in it. The story is delightful, characters are interesting and unique, the combat is engaging, the pacing is great, lots to do, lots to see.

That being said, still enjoyed it greatly. Took me about 13 hours to complete, though maybe tack on another hour at least for the last boss. Still really like this game and its worth a play through if you enjoy this type of game.

it does a great job of the discovery and exploration stuff in a fun and interesting way, especially with how it doles out the information with the in-game manual and all. Really cute art too. I do think the combat is a bit too hard, and the last boss just ended up not being fun.

They function similar to Factorio, but the combat isn't good or interesting and there is what felt like a somewhat punishing respawn mechanic where it gets more and more expensive to respawn over time if you are destroyed.
