Big update, it's coming along Wish the decals went on a bit better but im still working on it, ill probably order a set to be printed next time instead of just using my inkjet. For the cost of roughly $45 it sure beats $400+ for the brass equivalent. The most expensive part is the flatcar kit

Rapido has been making some of the best models overall in the industry right now imo and everyone else needs to catch up. Kato is always great but their main customer base is Japan, so their stuff isn't always DCC friendly but their tooling is hard to beat but rapido, they're just cooking

Once I get the model to a point I think is presentable I will make the files available on cults 3d. It may not be the most accurate model but what was most important was to have something that's structurally sound and the lack of more documentation didnt help

Been tinkering with this 3d printable Pacific Electric Lake Arrowhead tank car. One of a few custom cars made to haul water from the lake down to the city. The flatcar is an Owl mountain kit while the tanks and everything else are designed by me with reference help from @beatlewolf.bsky.social

its not an interest in the "wow so cool and awesome" way, its deconstructing the event bit by bit to learn how it all happened. Its almost like a never ending puzzle because each year it seems new found footage is released. Its Morbid but it comes from a place of wanting to understand it all
