September 1, 2026 in Elk Grove

NorCal Resist has verified several ICE vehicles in Elk Grove near Elk Grove Park and Elk Grove High School. Our volunteers monitored the situation until they left the area. Some of them may still be in Elk Grove, but at least one was seen getting on the freeway heading in the direction of Sacramento. As far as we know, the agents were doing reconnaissance, and no one was arrested.

We ask that any community members report suspicious activity or if an arrest was made. Please continue to EXERCISE CAUTION and report sightings so we can verify. If your loved one has been detained, please call our hotline.

NorCal Resist joins the call for solidarity with VC Defensa and rapid responders who are being targeted for harassment and violence by ICE and DHS.

Community members in organizations like VC Defensa are every day taking time out of their busy lives to show up for our immigrant community. The work is often thankless, but is key to ensuring that our neighbors are not disappeared into a vast deportation machine without a trace. Responders are our front line, our eyes and ears on the ground, documenting widespread government abuses, and ensuring that legal and other support can be dispatched quickly. The work they do is not currently illegal, despite the best efforts of this administration to paint it otherwise. Regardless of legality, this work will always be moral, just, right and necessary.

The rapid responders of VC Defensa have shown the world that everyday people in the US are organized and willing to stand up against this abusive administration. Their courage and dedication has inspired activists around the US and the world. It is no surprise then that the administration seeks to use violence and intimidation to attempt to shut down VC Defensa’s important work. As long as we continue to fight these injustices, the administration will not win.

The whole world is watching.
