Absolutely. I’ve seen people suggest it will take a long time to earn back our trust as Canadians. But it’s more than just say having an amicable US admin, because we know now that your agreements and laws are meaningless as the next admin can just ignore them.

Agreed. Ultimately some sort of carbon price will need to be paid or other countries (Europe) fighting climate change will simply apply a tax to offset, but it now needs to be solved differently.

There would also need to be a substantial change to your laws and how the are executed. If the Supreme Court can allow convicted felons to govern and skirt the law, then no legal agreements can ever be taken at face value. For Canadians, it’s no longer about just earning trust.

Out of curiosity, what’s OH’s GDP vs CA’s. Perhaps CA should just withhold their contribution to FEMA in a separate account and then when there is a disaster they can pick and choose too if they want to help a given state. The west coast of the US should just merge with us (Canada)
