Outside temperature is 9C and feels like 4. I'm eating breakfast in 20C so there will be a bit of a shock to the system. Driving to New Ross #Parkrun shortly. They are at number 499 today so bigger celebrations next week. Meanwhile my local is getting ready for Day One. #runningpunks #loverunning

Om on the volunteer roster. However, Parkrun policy is no not announce Day One for fear of volunteers being overrun. Seems strange, yet I think I understand it. Fingers crossed that rain holds off until 10.30

Last Easter I pushed distance and pace too hard for 68yo with some arthritis in left knee. Nice and steady since then. Yesterday I was chuffed to do 6k, walk for 10 mins and do a further 2k. All very gently. I want to still be running at 70 and beyond. #runchat #outsideisfree #parkrun #runningpunks

Picked up this tip recently. Delighted with my 2nd Parkrun since mid-July. 33 will be my Autumn average and I may decide to give it a real go during winter if I feel good. A real go would mean chasing 29:52 that I set back in January. #parkrun #outsideisfree

My #parkrun research unearthed this... Tyne Green gave an award for the oldest Great North Run T-shirt: 1981, worn by a man who ran it at 13 when nobody had invented a minimum age. The prize was described as something money cannot buy, and that nobody would pay money for anyway. #outsideisfree
