Everytime I listen to Agathocles I wonder why I bother listening to anything else. For real, 92-97 Agathocles is close to perfection when it comes to #grindcore.

That's an awesome idea. Been Caught Buttering is one of their best.

Too many people underestimate how much early Pungent Stench influenced goregrind. Early EPs and the demos are extremely close to the wilder style Dead Infection, with the chunky sound, the groovy part and the heavy emphasis on d-beat. A personal favorite. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8son...

That's kind of a great idea though. Considering Brotzmann did shows with grindcore bands, it's also kinda meta

10/10 discography. Their later stuff is a tad weaker but everything up to Apology for Pathology is top notch. I really like some of their experiments like The Kill Sessions too.

Birdflesh are legendary ! Night of the ultimate mosh and Mongo Musicale are legit grindcore staples, plus super funny. HIghly recommend checking their drummer's other bands too (General Surgery, Jigsore Terror, Sickrecy to name a few)

Closing up 2025 with a small live EP ! I love these tracks, we're at our rawest and goriest here. Thanks for another year of support, we'll be back with more splattery old school goregrind in 2025 ! pulsatingcerebralslime.bandcamp.com/album/spille...

How is the sound quality on this one ? I had a similar combined cd / vinyl player but it scratched one of my vinyl BAD, like actual damage, always looked for a better / more portable one that the big player I currently own

This is not intended to be a full analysis and complete history of goregrind, but more of a summary of what the genre is and where it comes from, and what are its numerous subgenres. I'll probably make a more developed series at some point, as this was intended for short-form videos.

People have told us a lot that we "don't actually play goregrind" because we don't sound like Gutalax, and after my initial puzzled reaction, I realized it's mostly because people have forgotten. I made a small series of videos about what exactly is goregrind here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=lagm...

Oh man the snare is enough to make me like this ! For the rest it feels like I'm listening to those techy bands like early Necrophagist or Pavor, this is such a blast

Yeah I definitely noticed that, we're finally getting the best of both worlds with good productions but actual performances. Honestly been waiting for that for years.

Pulsating Cerebral Slime @pcsgoregrind.bsky.social · 23/11/2024

Yes and they use it really well too, they have something in the higher ends that sounds so sharper and nastier than most of your typical Sunlight sound ! It's one of the big reasons I love it more than most other classic swedeath albums

010 0

Pulsating Cerebral Slime @pcsgoregrind.bsky.social · 23/11/2024

Yeah that's exactly it. It's straightforward. Doesn't try to sound too much like your typical swedish thing as well, it's a breath of fresh air.

Bow down before the Filth ! Another snapshot of our latest show, blood, guts and #goregrind and all.

The band Pulsating Cerebral Slime on stage. In the middle, the stage performer holds a blood-soaked fake brain up in the air, and the audience cheers and bows.

That God Macabre album might be my favorite swedish death metal album ever. The grindier Macabre End demo is awesome too

Am I tripping or are we seeing more brutal death bands turn back to the 90's / early 2000's stuff lately ? Not complaining but I've been surprised how much I've been enjoying some of the recent stuff, this included.

Pulsating Cerebral Slime @pcsgoregrind.bsky.social · 23/11/2024

This is pretty good, HM-2 grind stuff can quickly get stale but this does not. I get some early 2000's vibes from this, it's all too rare

True. Or you could always find a discarded one to fix it. They're hard to find now, like all things analog

This is one part of the 90s I don't miss, these things were constantly breaking. At one point I had like three in my bedroom that I was trying to fix.

I think the same both about Deep Rising and Road House. Deep Rising is especially nice, I love the "Alien, but on a boat" thing going, the monster is nice and all the side characters are good. And it's definitely entertaining with a nice couple of gore scenes on top. Always loved it !

I don't know why a lot of people told me this one was awful for years, I finally saw it last week and it's an absolute blast, typical of the good 80's splatter films. This is a classic !!
