Dems have poured enormous resources into his campaign. It’s the progressives - most conspicuously Bernie - who are MIA.

Isn’t the bigger problem that the wind is blowing his beard in one direction and the water in another?

Except he doesn’t. AIPAC hasn’t donated a penny to his campaign. The largest donation to his campaign comes from Equality PAC, an LGBTQ rights group. So yeah, it’s antisemitic.

The majority of white voters have voted for the Republican in every election for the past 60 years. A majority of the white electorate is racist.

Peter Birkenhead @pbirk.bsky.social · 01/08/2026
Well, it wasn’t a minority of white people, but a solid majority. All three elections. They voted for the Republican, just like they have in every single election since the Voting Rights Act was passed. Racism is not a “minority” phenomenon in the white electorate.

You think the Michigan Education Association purposely designed a poll to create the false impression of a Republican lead?

If the Holodomor was murder (it was,) so is the destruction of USAID.

Peter Birkenhead @pbirk.bsky.social · 22/07/2026
It doesn’t. It means that making one, and only one, of the world’s many deeply complicated and horrible ongoing catastrophes into the one and only lens through which to view all the others is insane, counterproductive, and often an indicator that there are ugly motives at work.

Trump/Musk’s destruction of USAID is responsible for ten times the number of deaths in Gaza and will end up a world-historical cataclysm. Why doesn’t this issue, which the US government is even more directly responsible for than the horror of Gaza, get anywhere near it’s attention from the Left?

You can’t be serious. You think not having to pay for marketing, packaging, profits and executive salaries will leave people LESS well off?

No, it’s not. It’s “your” when “lying” is a gerund. It functions as a noun.

here is what i think: we're not consumers or spectators, we are participants with agency. you should not hope that democrats will do anything. you must work to force them to do the right thing. the odds are long, but we are far from the first americans to face long odds. we will win.

NYT is always "progressives should abandon their principles! Sell out! Sell out! SELL OUT!" This is something you will constantly find at the NYT, a piece dressed up as a news article that is editorializing frantically for a political position, not neutrally presenting the facts.

So the what is the supposed “condescension” you’re referring to?

The election of a US Senator is every American’s business. And expression of justified fear and worry about real world harm to vulnerable people is not “condescension.”

i really do think they believe that because they're "good" on policy that they don't owe people anything on a human level, and if you're a woman who believes in the same policies but also understands the capacity even "good" men have to be cruel then you're weak

The thing about the left needing a positive vision for masculinity to counter the right is … they don’t have one either. Their whole thing is “don’t be a woman” as arbitrarily defined by whatever they consider feminine. Apparently some people find this admirable and wish to imitate it

Trump made deportation his brand from day one. The 1st sound bite of the 1st Trump campaign was “They’re sending rapists & murderers. They’re not sending their best.” It’s been his focus, often to the exclusion of everything else, for 12 years. Folks didn’t have to watch the RNC to know this.

He (and we) could succeed at both electoral politics and fighting fascism if he used his position to shape public opinion instead of merely reacting to it.
