My friend adopted 2 things in this photo…the mug and this wee kitten. The kitten was outside Irene’s back door…crying. The Cat Distribution System was at work. ☺️😽

I use to try to be what everyone wanted me to be. At my previous job, I was put down for being too ‘artsy fartsy’. Like it was a bad thing. Yet…here I am. Running my own pottery and apparel businesses. Being the ME that I was always meant to be. 💖 Surrounded by THE most amazing people 🩵

Good morning and happy Tuesday! I hope everyone is remembering to limit the amount of bad news they’re consuming and taking care of their mental health! It gets harder and harder, but it’s so important not to give up hope. 🧡 (this is a pep talk for myself as much as for anyone else) #pottery #mug

Just a friendly reminder…refrain from asking something from a small business that you wouldn’t ask from a large business. Our small business is our livelihood not our hobby. Would you give your boss a discount on your wages? 🤗

I posted last week, about this little slab planter. It was a lot of fun to make. 💗☺️ It’s the happy things in life we need to focus on during these frenetic times. Find something that brings you peace…and hope this orange roller coaster is brought to an end. Soon! 🤞🏼 Elbows up, Canada 🇨🇦

Sometimes…it’s the simple things in life that bring happiness. A little vase with handmade wire flowers created by a local maker. 🤗

Here’s a question…how does one get ‘seen’ on Bluesky? I’m lucky to get a couple likes. 🤔

When glaze runs more than you expect it?!?! My hubby eventually ground the ragged edges but I wasn’t satisfied. Darn! I have to keep this absolutely gorgeous Dimple Cup!!! 😝🤣

All of my pottery goes through very thorough cat scans by my Supurrvisors. Today, Keelie, gave 4 paws up to some Dimple cups, Shoreline mugs, and Pretty in Pink cups.

One evening, Keelie walked through my underglaze palette, so I put her paw prints on a bowl I was going to paint. My friend, Barb, told me it looked ‘pawsitively adorable’. And I loved it!!! That’s how I got my name. Pawsitive Pottery. How did you get your business name?

Just when I think I’m finally feeling better? BAM! More shit hits my fan! When my mind isn’t in a calm place? It’s important for me to realize it and do something about it. This afternoon, I went to my studio to just play. No expectations…just me, Grayson, my slab roller, my hands, and some clay.

Received this package today and I’m incredibly excited to start using it. I think it’ll be very helpful for me to keep records of my more complicated glaze combinations 😃 Written by @karaleighceramics.bsky.social 😁

I truly wish there was less political content on Blue Sky. It’s incredibly depressing. I just want a place to go where I can find peace 🥺

This isn’t anything new! It’s just something I learned a long time ago and use this technique after every cup/mug/bowl that I trim. The clay planters never stick. 🤗 I have quite a collection of clay planters in various sizes!!!! And…they’re inexpensive 😝 What do you use to round your rims?

Chiaroscuro is such a fun word to say. Light and dark playing nicely together. I love throwing little vases on the wheel. Each one gives me the opportunity to play with different shapes…plus…they make great test tiles 🤗

I started making my Paw Print on My Heart mugs in 2017. I decorated one completely on a ‘what would happen if I did this’ moment. That mug immediately sold and the customer asked for another. Since then? It’s my most requested design. I’ve made hundreds! Each is wheel thrown and hand decorated. 🐾

Trying out something new that is actually…going back to my beginning. My artistic roots were in watercolours. It’s fun combining 2 art forms ☺️🌸
