Desired outcomes:
• No sexuality for kids. Materials about sex, sexual & gender orientation moved from children & youth sections to adult section.
• No sexuality in children's activities.
• Make libraries places of unity, not division.
A neutral place that taxpayers can be proud to support, that parents can be excited to visit.
• Make libraries safe places of respite, not hotbeds of activism. Nonpartisan and neutral. Earn back people's trust.
• Open and geared toward safety for families, not activists and homeless.
• No rainbow and activist displays. Monthly celebrations aren't uniting, they are dividing. Be beige, not rainbow.
• No dividing kids from parents, no suggesting they hide things from them.
• Libraries aren't places to teach about sexuality and librarians aren't therapists.
• Just get back to being a library. You're alienating people. They're saying no.

Wow I'd completely forgotten about this book! And also weirdly i can't remember being affected by a fictional death in a book as a kid. I remember losing it at the end of My Girl and going fully silent for hours after watching What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

My gut instincts are a little weird and immediately fall back to shows that were important to me when I was younger. Silent Witness I put in just because I have watched all 26 (27? 28?) seasons of it. DS9 I would maybe consider to be better than tng, but tng was my first star trek.

I only know of violife which is probably what they used. The cheese melts better if it steams a bit so cover the pan with foil before baking should help.

This feels like a very generational thing! Like if you existed in a time before smart phones and dating apps you kind of had to talk to humans in person. Though I guess 20 years ago my husband did ask me out via email after we met through mutual friends.
