Pedestrian safety? What are pedestrians? Stunned that this is legal. #WarOnPedestrians
Photo of an older model Honda CR-V parked at the curb. The body is dark blue, the hood is white. Parked behind the car as another white car, and then an intersection with yellow crosswalks. There's a gas station diagonally across the intersection, and green street signs identify it as the intersection of California And 25th.

Mounted at the front of the car is a metal casting of a stag's head with antlers, ready to impale anyone in its way.

Like waiting in line? Take Waymo! watched this for a few minutes. It wasn't until a human driver went around that the Waymos pulled out to pass the parked truck. And there was not a lot of oncoming traffic.
A photograph looking west on Pacific from Presidio. On the left are the tails of a variety of cars, parked perpendicular to the curb on the steep hill. In the middle of the street, towards the bottom of the hill, is small dark car, showing brake lights. On the right curb, from the bottom, are 2trucks unloading things, a white OG Waymos, the next generation blue Waymo, and a 2nd white Waymo, all showing brake lights. The curb lane heading downhill is a driving lane, with red brick pavement, and, separated from the bricks by a double yellow line, is the asphalt east-bound lane

Image on the Bluesky post:
Two images, one a photo of Kim Jong-un, with yellow sunset cloudscape behind him on the left. On the right is a photoshopped image of DJT, with a very similar growing expression, wearing the same type of jacket and with the same hairstyle, with black hair, just to the right of a red flag with a white star in a white circle. Above the image on the left, it reads Kim Jong- un. Above the image on the right (with DJT's orange face) it reads "Sum Dum- Fuk"

A eagle in the cloud! (@eclectech ?)
A view across Cold Stream Pond in Maine, early evening , looking east. The water is reflecting shades of grey and blue, with those clouds (mostly cumulus and stratus) reflecting warm pinks from the setting sun, adding a touch of colored stripes on the lake.

In the center, there is a large grey cloud structure, which looks very like an eagle with outstretched wings, with head (and beak) looking to its left ( viewers right)

@gottalaff.bsky.social Taking the liberty of posting the excellent cartoon from the original post:
A cartoon with 5 people raising a large yellow pencil flagpole, flying a flag with We the People" legible at the top. They are standing on ruins, with pieces of broken fluted columns visible. The person on the left is labeled"Artists", in the middle"Writers" and on the right " Comedians". The picture is a riff on the famous WW2 photo of the Marines raising the fag on Iwo Jima.

@jik I know a couple of borate/sugar water baits, Terro is the one I'm using at the moment. Low borate %, so relatively benign . Takes a while to work, but placing them near the start of the ant trail seems to stop them from ranging farther. For home made […] [Original post on sfba.social]

(from friends in the EU)
A photo of a hot air hand dryer mounted on tile wall, viewed from above. There's a chrome air vent on the left, and a large push button on the right. In black, on the dryer's top, someone has drawn an arrow pointing to the button, and behind that, in capital letters, has printed "PUSH BUTTON FOR SHORT SPEECH BY DONALD TRUMP"

Gee, how nice - #PGE Resource center is open from 5 - 10 pm, and then people without power can go back to their electricity-free homes in the dark at 10 pm. Such service to people left in the dark. When will #SFPUC be allowed to take over the local grid from the […] [Original post on sfba.social]

And here I was thinking Waymos don't pull into the curb. To prove me wrong, they're doing it in a bus stop.
Photograph of a Waymo, blinkers flashing, pulled most of the way in to the red painted curb of a bus stop, which is clearly identified by the yellow band (and blue sign, not visible in photo). You can see the letter P on the pavement to the right of the Waymo (left from photos view). The car is stopped over the "BUS STO" painted in the stop.

#SFMTA, #SFDPW: yes we need bike racks. We also need to locate them so they don't interfere with the ramps needed for wheelchair boarding (or, for that matter, in the path of embarking/disembarking passengers of all mobility levels) Can we keep the necessary […] [Original post on sfba.social]

Funny, I should think a guy so focused on appropriate dress would respect the US Flag code. But then I'm no expert on the dress code for the #SecretaryOfMurder
A photo of Pete Hegseth at a podium wearing a blue suit, a darker blue tie with widely spaced bars of red and white stripes, and a folded pocket handkerchief in the breast pocket of the suit. The handkerchief shows part of a flag - with a blue rectangle showing 2 rows of stars on the left, and 3 white and 3 red stripes to the right.

Weeds, weeds, weeds
A photograph of the trunk of a short, wide palm tree, in shades of gray and brown. The roughly oval stubs where fronds had fallen off are lighter in color. There is a lot of fibrous matter between the stubs.

And weeds - a long stem of hawkweed falls down diagonally from upper right towards the left, with a yellow flower and buds at the end. Various green leaves are visible below it, all growing out of crevasses and shelves formed by the stubs

Oh, look - at the intersection of Bush & Fillmore, it looks like a car hit the corner of the building. Oh, wait, maybe the driver drove the car into the building? The car wasn't an independent actor?
A photo of the NE corner of Bush and Fillmore Street, showing the yellow ADA ramps in the foreground. On the sidewalk there's a blue recycling bin, with a gray garbage bin behind it, against the south wall of the building. There is yellow caution tape running across the sidewalks at 3 levels. Behind the blue bin is a column in green marble veneer in front of the glass entryway, which faces the corner. The column has been snapped about 2ft above the ground, angled in towards the door from the fracture point. The white clapboard siding at the second floor of the house is pushed away from the corner post, suggesting some structural damage at the upper floor as well.

If there's not a pot of gold, you can always get oysters #tomalesbay
A photo looking east across Tomales Bay, grey clouds over grey water, the hills across the may showing green patches of trees or shrubs in the yellow-brown dry grass. There's a curvy white road visible in the lower right, the white buildings of the Tomales Bay Oyster Company are on the lower left. Rising up diagonally to the upper right from the Oyster Company is a rainbow.

Screen shot of 2 text messages, the first announcing that a computer problem at BART ( the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit) means no trains are running, and riders should make other plans.

The second from SFMTA, the San Francisco transit agency, telling us that there may be service impacts because operators may be delayed getting into work.

With an important reminder from @Wileymiller
Today's Non Sequitur cartoon, of God, behind a golden podium, with an open laptop and a stack of brown books next to the laptop. To the left, at the top of some stairs, is a man in a blue suit. The podium and the man are standing on clouds, with the sky above the clouds pale blue. A sign, black text on a pale yellow background, reads "shortcut in the final C.E.O. performance review" and on the podium, in front of the man, is a sign that reads "FAQ Answer: Legal does not equal moral" (Does not equal is shown by an = with a slash through it)

Headlines and images don't have to be distressing:
The headline in the upper left, black text on white background: "Bears eat week’s worth of honey after escape from Devon enclosure", and below on 2 lines: Five-year-old "Mish and Lucy get their paws on some snacks before being safely contained at Wildwood Devon"

The photo on the right is of 2 bears happily chewing on some signs, apparently quite content. In the front, the bear is facing the camera, with a rolled up sign with blue lettering, and behind that, the other bear has it's head down, with a flat sign that has "Misha" in green text on it.

Even happy mousehunters want #safestreets everyday, not just #caturday
A photo of a rural road in Gotland, Sweden, with a segment of grey road to the left, green trees, grasses, and ferns under a blue sky. In the middle is a sign post with 2 signs. The top is a yellow triangle with a red border, and in the middle are the black silhouettes of a girl and a smaller boy walking hand in hand.

Beneath that is a square yellow sign with a red outline, and in the middle, surrounded by a red triangle , are the silhouettes of 3 kittens playing with butterflies. Below are three lines of text in Swedish, which translates to "Here live happy mouse hunters lacking traffic knowledge".
