Some much needed context on current UK flooding: How bad was it? Properties flooded due to #StormBert (mostly Wales) 200-300 In Yorkshire in June 2007 there were 23,479 homes & 3,718 businesses flooded.

I wrote this on 1.5°C eight years ago "Depending on climate sensitivity and natural variability, we could conceivably see the first year above 1.5°C as early as the late 2020s – but it is more likely to be later" It's looking like I was a bit too optimistic 🧵 theconversation.com/what-will-th...

By the time we hit that temperature, further climate changes will already be locked in and unavoidable.
