Why the fuck are the BBC even reporting this? Neither Ukraine nor Russia have agreed to it. It's just Trump rambling. And yet the BBC gets a reporter to ask "what it means". It means fuck all, because it doesn't exist.

Well, that's one way to tell people you're a Zionist.

Your opinion is all well and good, but I think we really ought to have a focus group to get a definitive answer.

True Detective season 1 gets specifically mentioned, and the other seasons don't get mentioned 🤣

Does this mean that there are so many people who are unwell, that the state support is going to double? Maybe it's worth looking at what it costs to help some of them get better...

This is where I live. The developers just released consultations about putting up blocks of flats on what are currently the only notable car parks in market towns (where there isn't really much public transport). The council hadn't agreed to even go ahead with selling the car parks.

I thought that Iran sold loads of it's oil to China? So is the US really going to pick a fight with China over this? I doubt it.

Well, he kind of backs up his own (incorrect) point, in that there is a dark greater % of black professors because they're put there by diversity targets. But, wow, he's just a gob on a stick here: paid to talk and have no background knowledge at all.

Nah, best to let the Israelis kill people. Maybe throw some white phosphorus in there- they like using that. This way nobody will get called anti-Semitic.

Paul Rogers @paulrogers.bsky.social · 04/08/2026
Ha, I knew it. Probably best for Israel to kill everyone nearby then. Start with the babies and children. The IDF specialise in that.

Presume the Israelis say that it was promised to them 3,000 years ago. That's their excuse for everything.

No, I haven't read it. My point is that journalists just keep saying "Burnham's t-shirt" for whatever reason, and the more they say it, the more that people remember it. In a months time it will be like Starmers curry: perfectly allowed and reasonable, but stuck in everyone's brain.

Paul Rogers @paulrogers.bsky.social · 29/07/2026
Oh FFS. Have you seriously written an article about the implications of someone who earns over £100k owning an expensive t-shirt. Presumably you can show similar articles about other politicians?

The guy who's in charge of issuing the arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Smotrich has been removed from his job? What a massive coincidence. I guess the warrants will now go in the bin.

For a long time governments have made decisions by focus groups. They (and now journalists) make decisions by polling now. It doesn't matter who is in office, since an algorithm could interpret polling results. The days of someone having a plan or vision are gone.

Nope, plenty of people who can do it.

As an engineer making new parts for 100 year old cars, I can tell you that this sort of work is pretty easy with occasional thoughts needed. The massively stumbling block is finding someone willing to pay you to do it.

Yup, it's a good plan. I treat SM like being in a pub: if someone's saying stuff I don't like then I avoid them. I'm not spending my free time dealing with people I find annoying.

If they've spent their time doing something as purile as this, then it would explain why they haven't done simple free stuff (Leveson, regulate public services, let everything know what Lab's vague plan is). They're barely capable of answering a question, so any of this is beyond them.

I haven't read this, but his biggest problem is going to be the media will hate him. Plus, he won't do anything they find unpalatable (see Miliband/Mahmood). And nothing will improve. I give him a year.

Yeah, it's definitely the police who are at fault here. Farridge saying that it was pre-meditated murder is absolutely fine?

So you want people to vote for Party A (who they don't like) to avoid Party B (who they also don't like). If they vote for Party C (who they do like) then you roll up and tell them they're wrong. This isn't the genius persuasion that you think it is.

He said that it was "pre-meditated murder" Tice then said that MPs don't get the protection they should have, and that Reform would be providing that for their MPs. Both widely reported. Good luck finding a jury who isn't aware of what these two have been saying.

Oh, I wasn't talking specifically about wealth tax, just tax in general. No end of analyses said that VAT on private schools would mean collapse, but there are more of them now than before the change. As a country, we're just heading for yet another decade of nothingness.

Paul Rogers @paulrogers.bsky.social · 09/07/2026
The only part of the programme I happened to see was the two of you speaking. As far as I could tell, Dan's approach is that 'we can't tax wealthy people because they'll just leave'. Or, to put it another way, nothing will ever change.
