Nazis Would Award Hitler Nobel PRize

Helsingfors - Finnish and German newspapers suggest that the Nobel Prize should be awarded to Reichsfuehrer Adolf Hitler.

The German leader could claim the coveted prize on various counts, they say. Before the war he was an architect and several of his drawings and paintings are extant.

His book "Mein Kampf" has been a best seller. In fact, it is compulsory for libraries and schools to buy it.

But it is rather the Peace Prize which the Fuehrer's admirers have in mind. They claim that thanks to him Europe still enjoys peace.

As the EU continues to rely even more heavily on importing US LNG and is kicking the can on methane regulations to make this happen, perhaps they should ponder the risks of handing this sort of energy dependence to a country that elected Trump. Because it gives him leverage...like with diesel.

Of course when it really comes down to it, he does so easily. But it's quite rich given years of him making the Greens out to be the most terrifying force in politics in Germany - as if they would literally take the sausage out of your hands and the car out of your garage.

Initial prognosis on the election results from Saxony-Anhalt: AfD won even a bit more than expected, but probably not by enough to govern alone as a single party government.
Expected election results for Saxony Anhalt show AfD with 44 percent, CDU with 17,4 and all other parties at 9 or below.

Interestingly most Germans won't know what you're talking about if you ask for a 'stein' (which actually just means stone). The word here is Maß (pronounced mass), Maßkrug or Krug. I'm not sure why English speakers tend to call them steins.
