I've made dhal with loads of lemon and garlic, plus I'm marinading some chicken thighs in tandoori spices and yoghurt. There will probably be garlicky roti or paratha (I've forgotten which I have in the freezer) and maybe one lager - but I do need to knock off the booze after London's excesses!

I don't think Beavertown should be allowed to make beer any longer. This used to be a great IPA, but like everything else in their portfolio it's been rendered bland and utterly meh since the Heineken takeover.

That okra indeed! We had the famous black dhal too, but everything was just so packed with flavour. When Molly lived down here we always went to Dishoom Shoreditch for lunch when I visited. Love the place.

It's only 2 weeks ago that I got back from Sevilla, and temperatures in the mid 30s. But I had to wear a hat to pop to the shops last night, and I think that really brought it home to me. That said, trees are mostly still green here, so it feels more autumnal than it looks.
