The ACT for ALS is the single largest source of federal funding specifically for ALS research. Its reauthorization will grant people living with ALS continued access to expanded access programs that could wind up meaningfully extending their lives—and at this point, maybe even saving them.

This is great news for the ALS community. CNM-Au8 is extremely well-tolerated and there are almost 10 years of data to back up its safety, with some real convincing data to back up its efficacy. I hope it's approved, but it's only a start. It would not make ALS a livable disease, much less cure it.
